Fall 2008 - Radical: What the Gospel Demands
"In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple." With these words, Jesus turned away large crowds who were following him. With grace and authority he beckoned potential followers to consider the demands of discipleship. For most, the price was too high and the cost was too great. In the 2000 years since Jesus spoke these words, it begs the question: Do we in contemporary Christianity realize the high price of following Jesus? Do we understand the great cost for all who call themselves followers of Christ? This Fall we will look at startling words form Jesus that require us to consider the implications of the Gospel for every facet of our lives.

August 2008 - Why? The Gospel and Suffering
During the rest of the month of August, Dr. Platt will be leading us to explore the Gospel and suffering in the book of Job. Hardship is a given consequence of life in a fallen world. Followers of Christ are not immune to struggles and pain; in fact, following Christ means that trials are more likely to come.
As a result, the questions abound: Where is God when I suffer? When will my suffering end? And ultimately, why am I suffering like this? Over the next few weeks, we will dive in to these important and pertinent questions and come to a surprising discovery of how the Gospel strengthens, sustains, comforts, and emboldens us in the middle of suffering.
July 2008 - Threads - The Gospel and Personal Evangelism
How do you weave the message of the Gospel into your everyday life? Join us as we discover how the Gospel threads are woven into our everyday lives and ministry. We will see our responsibility to demonstrate truths of the Gospel with the way we live and with how we speak. Then, as God provides opportunity, we have the privilege of bringing all of these "intertwining" threads together for the sake of others as we introduce them to Christ, revealing His beauty and glory.
