Pray for the Church
Praise God for not only creating humankind but also for knitting each of us together in our mothers' wombs. Pray for us all to view one another as fellow bearers of God's image. Pray we as a church will be known for our love and concern for all peoples everywhere. Ask God to help join Him in filling the earth with His glory.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Hearts in Hands, Inc., a local non-profit ministry founded by former Brook Hills members that provides home repair services and wheelchair ramp construction for poor and elderly people in the greater Birmingham area. Hearts in Hands strives to engage the poor with the gospel while meeting their physical needs. We’re also praying for Double Oak Community Church and Pastor Adam Robinson.
Day 1: Pray that Hearts in Hands will remain steadfast in its mission to exalt the name of Jesus Christ in Birmingham. Pray for the staff and volunteers to serve out of sincere hearts of love for Christ and for others. Pray for both the staff and volunteers to serve with a spiritual zeal and love that draws others to the heart of Christ.
Day 2: Pray for God to provide wisdom to the Hearts in Hands leadership team as they respond to those requesting assistance. Pray that word about this ministry will spread and reach people in need so that they will encounter the love of God through the ministry of Hearts in Hands.
Day 3: Pray for financial provision for Hearts in Hands so that no elderly person in need has to be turned away.
Day 4: Pray for God to send men and women willing to serve with Hearts in Hands through prayer and through discipleship. Pray for relationships to be formed with each other and with those Hearts in Hands serves.
Day 5: Pray for God to provide skilled laborers with handyman experience or the ability to lead projects to serve regularly as volunteers. Pray that as they serve, these men or women will effectively meet the needs of those they serve.
Day 6: Pray for those who are being impacted by the ministry of Hearts in Hands. Pray that God will soften their hearts to the gospel, draw them to Himself, and connect them to a local church.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Termer, David S. serving among least reached peoples in Central Asia.
Day 1: David arrived in his new city almost seven months ago. He has primarily been getting settled in and studying language. Praise God that he is progressing in his language ability and has started building good friendships. Pray for David to constantly be dependent upon God and to trust his good timing to give him what he needs when he needs it.
Day 2: David has been hanging out with a group of students he recently met who are interested in knowing more about Christ. Pray specifically for the three guys he has become close to. Pray for God to give more opportunities to share Christ and deepen those relationships.
Day 3: David has a good friend named Oscar whom he has been sharing the gospel with. Oscar is not interested in changing his belief but wants to keep talking about these subjects more. Pray for God to open Oscar’s eyes as he is searching for peace and understanding. Pray for Oscar to see Christ as the only way to true peace.
Day 4: Pray for God to keep David’s heart reliant on Him and His Word.
Day 5: David has recently gotten engaged. Praise God for providing a partner who also desires to take the gospel to the nations. Pray for them as they transition into this new season of life and prepare for long-term service as a married couple.
Day 6: Pray for David to find deep community with the other believers he is serving with and for more opportunities to spend time with friends and love them well.
