Pray for the Church
Praise the Father for His gift of the Holy Spirit, Whom empowers His people to accomplish the work to which He has called them. Thank God for the faithful witness of Christ-followers throughout the ages, which has led to the growth of His church. Pray we will all follow suit and be faithful to proclaim the gospel whenever presented with the opportunity. Ask God to embolden us in our proclamation of His Word for the sake of the lost here in Birmingham and around the world. Pray for God’s continued gracious blessing in our lives in regards to resources we might use for the spread of His Kingdom. and to accomplish His will.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Biblical Marriage Institute (BMI), a ministry dedicated to seeing biblical marriage restored as the standard for all marriages through marriage education, marriage training, and community awareness. In addition to leading this ministry, Brook Hills members Alonza and Vanessa Jones also lead worship services alongside Bert and Midge Cornelius at Somerby 119.
Day 1: Pray for marriages across our city. Pray for husbands and wives to be faithful to each other, to walk in purity, and to honor the vows they made to each other and to God.
Day 2: Pray for children who have been affected by disunity in the home and for those being raised in fractured families.
Day 3: Pray for Biblical Marriage Institute as they teach God’s plan for relationships and marriage to teens and adults. Pray especially for their outreach to teens coming from fractured families with no role models in their homes or any concept of a biblical marriage as a reference point.
Day 4: Pray for a successful year of ministry that would produce new Christ followers, stronger marriages, and a greater understanding of God’s plan for marriage.
Day 5: Pray for wisdom for BMI’s founders, Alonza and Vanessa Jones, and for their board members as they lead this ministry.
Day 6: Pray for the ministry partners who pray faithfully for BMI, serve as volunteers and mentors, and financially support the ministry.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Mid-Termers Rachel B. and Nicole R. serving in South Asia. There, both Rachel and Nicole are partnering with Long-Term missionaries who are serving the urgent physical and spiritual needs of unreached people groups living in South Asia. Join us this week as we pray for Rachel B. and Nicole R.
Day 1: Rachel and Nicole have recently been travelling to different villages every week to do GPS mapping. Pray for unity, grace, and selflessness as they travel and work together to be in these villages each week.
Day 2: Pray for open hearts and homes as Rachel and Nicole visit new villages over the next 4 months. Pray for many opportunities to share the gospel and for the Holy Spirit to bring them to people of peace when they enter a village.
Day 3: Rachel and Nicole have the opportunity to engage children at an orphanage that is across the street from where they live. Pray for God to save the children who come to hear stories of Christ from Rachel and Nicole.
Day 4: A few months ago a lady named Maya believed in Christ. Pray for Maya as she listens to the audio book of the Word. Pray for Maya to obey what the Word says and for God to continue to transform her life. Pray for a church to be planted in this area.
Day 5: Praise God for the opportunities Rachel and Nicole are having to share the gospel. Pray for God to save those they are coming into contact with.
Day 6: Pray for God to give Rachel and Nicole strength as they continue the work set before them.
