Pray for the Church
Praise God for creating us to have both a relationship with Him and with one another. Ask God to bring good, meaningful friendships into our lives and to strengthen our friendships with fellow believers as we spur one another on to love and good deeds. Pray for God to strengthen and sustain the marriages within our faith family. Pray for husbands and wives within our church to faithfully reflect a picture of the relationship between Christ and His Church.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Olivia’s House. Olivia’s House is an alcohol and drug abuse treatment center that provides holistic care for chemically dependent women and their children. Olivia’s House has granted the unique opportunity to Brook Hills to provide weekly biblical teaching to the residents of their secular recovery program. We’re also praying for Cahaba Park Presbyterian Church and Pastor Murray Lee.
Day 1: Pray for Kelly Driver, the director of Olivia’s House, to be a godly servant leader as she trains and equips her staff. Pray for increased knowledge and leadership skills as Kelly seeks to enhance the future of Olivia’s House in a positive way.
Day 2: Pray for the residents of Olivia’s House to be positive in their recovery journey as they take responsibility for their circumstances and to have an attitude of gratitude in their season of discord. Pray for a season of peace and rest within the walls of Olivia’s House.
Day 3: Olivia’s House needs some important and expanded staff roles filled. Pray for a harvest of new, fresh, willing, and able employees who have hearts to serve this population. Pray for God, in His divine providence, to send godly workers to live out the gospel in both word and deed for the residents.
Day 4: Pray for Olivia’s House to be renovated. Pray for a new clean space for each of the ladies and children to enjoy and find safety, as well as an expanded activity room to hold Bible studies and other activities.
Day 5: Pray for the weekly Bible study at Olivia’s House, led by Brook Hills members, to resume soon. Ask the Lord to prepare hearts and ignite their desire to hear and read the Word. Pray that all the ladies will want to attend the study. Pray for those who lead the study. Pray for repentance and total surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Day 6: Pray for the Brook Hills volunteers that serve with Olivia’s House. Pray for the Lord to help guide them in how best to serve Olivia’s House. Pray for the Lord to bring additional volunteers and partners to support the ladies and children there.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the people of Ukraine. The country of Ukraine is in Eastern Europe, sharing a border with Russia, and has a population of over 43 million. It was once a part of the Soviet Union but declared its independence in 1991. On February 23, Russia began a large-scale military attack on Ukraine, striking major military infrastructures across the country. Russian convoys have entered from all directions throughout the country. Join us this week as we pray for the people of Ukraine and for peace in this conflict.
Day 1: Pray for the people of Ukraine to have strength, courage, and perseverance as they endure this conflict.
Day 2: One of the biggest challenges right now is logistics in leaving or finances for staying. Pray for safe passages out of the conflict zones for those who are evacuating and displaced from their homes. Pray for those who are remaining to be able to allocate resources for food and resources for survival.
Day 3: Pray for the most vulnerable, especially children living in orphanages throughout Ukraine. Pray for God to protect them and provide for their needs as they face dangerous situations.
Day 4: Pray for Ukrainian believers as they seek to be a light in the darkness. Pray for local churches in Ukraine to be a place of hope and refuge in this time of war.
Day 5: Pray for Ukrainians who have never heard the gospel to have an opportunity to experience the hope of Jesus.
Day 6: Pray for world and national officials to lead with wisdom to end this conflict. Pray for peace in Ukraine.
