Pray for the Church
Pray for God to make us ready for Jesus’ return. Ask God to grant us strength and perseverance as we face opposition in this world. Praise God for the enduring nature of His Word. Pray we will all be faithful servants of Christ.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the St. Clair Prison Ministry and the June Family Nights that Brook Hills is helping sponsor at the prison. We are also praying for Philadelphia Baptist Church and Pastor Cory Varden.
DAY 1: Pray for the St. Clair Correctional Facility to remain peaceful this month so that the Chapel and Faith Dorm Family Nights can take place without disruptions.
DAY 2: Pray for the residents of the Faith Dorm who will be participating in these Family Nights. Pray that they may persevere in their spiritual journeys, always growing closer to Christ. Pray for their safety and for encouragement as they strive to walk in humility and honor in a dangerous environment.
DAY 3: Pray for the residents’ families to be healthy and able to make the trip to be with their loved ones for their Family Night. Pray that they understand how much this visit will mean to their incarcerated loved one. Pray that they have a safe journey to and from the prison.
DAY 4: Pray for the many families that have been broken due to incarceration. Pray that God would use these Family Nights to restore broken family relationships.
DAY 5: Pray for the many volunteers participating and providing food for these Family Nights. Pray that they would come with hearts prepared for ministry and service. Pray they will especially be an encouragement to those who have no family member attending.
DAY 6: Pray for these Family nights to have a gospel impact in the lives of everyone involved. Pray for gospel conversations throughout the events and afterwards.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills partner, the International Mission Board (IMB). The IMB is the primary mission organization for Southern Baptist churches and works in every area of the world to make disciples of all peoples in fulfillment of the Great Commission. The IMB is one of Brook Hills’ main partners in sending Short-Term, Mid-Term, Long-Term, and Church Planting teams overseas. To learn more about the IMB, visit imb.org. We are also praying for our Short-Term teams serving in Atlanta and East Asia.
DAY 1: Praise God for the ways He has used the IMB to expand His kingdom. Pray for God to continue to open up multiple pathways through the IMB for more missionaries to be sent.
DAY 2: Pray for wisdom and clarity as the IMB moves forward in their strategy to support the local church as God accomplishes the Great Commission through His people.
DAY 3: Praise God for those He has raised up, called, and confirmed to serve with the IMB. Pray for God to encourage and strengthen field workers as they work to share the gospel and make disciples among all peoples.
DAY 4: Pray for the IMB to be unified in Christ and to be renewed in the work God has set before them.
DAY 5: Pray for God to use the IMB to make His name known among unreached people groups in greater ways than ever before.
DAY 6: Thank God for the partnership He has given us at Brook Hills with the IMB. Pray for this partnership to continue to grow and for many people to be called out to go and serve the nations through the IMB.
