Pray for the Church
Praise God for His awesome power over sin and death demonstrated in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Pray we will all be faithful messengers of and witnesses to the gospel. Ask God to relieve our fears that hinder our gospel-witness and to grant us a healthy reverence toward Him. Pray for many to meet Jesus and believe because of the message of His salvation we share and proclaim as The Church at Brook Hills.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Awaken (awakenrecovery.com), a gospel-based recovery ministry dedicated to helping individuals and ministries navigate the painful waters caused by sexual brokenness and addiction. Founded by Brook Hills’ members, Greg and Stacey Oliver, one of the specific desires of Awaken is to establish relationships with local churches to help them better understand and respond to these issues within their local church. We are also praying for Christ Fellowship Church and Pastor Bart Box.
DAY 1: Pray that the countless men and women who secretly battle sexual addictions will come to understand that they cannot defeat an addiction in isolation. Pray they will willfully bring their addiction to the light or that God will lovingly expose their sin so that they can receive the help they need.
DAY 2: Pray for individuals, couples, and families who experience brokenness over sexual sin and addiction. Pray for reconciliation within marriages as well as healing for families who have gone through divorce because of sexual brokenness.
DAY 3: Pray for church leaders to seek a greater understanding about Christians battling sexual addiction, particularly regarding the fear and shame that keep them in hiding. Pray for leaders to communicate a clear gospel message that no sin is too great to experience grace, forgiveness, and support within the Body of Christ.
DAY 4: Pray for opportunities for Awaken to connect with educators. Pornography addiction often begins to take root in the elementary years. When educators better understand the neurological damage caused by viewing pornography, they can help protect young people from long-term damage.
DAY 5: Pray for Greg and Stacey’s own marriage and family. The volume of hurting individuals with whom they work is exhausting and stressful, and they need God’s protection in their own lives. Pray for strength for them to be available and wisdom to know their limitations.
DAY 6: Pray for ongoing financial support for Awaken. Pray that they will be able to connect with people, churches, and other organizations that will resonate with their message of gospel-based recovery and be led to partner with them through financial support.
Pray for the World
Each year, The Church at Brook Hills is able to send teams to serve our partners all over the world on Short-Term mission trips. The summer is always a busy time when multiple teams are constantly being sent out. We want to focus our prayer this week on the teams who will be serving for the remainder of the summer, for God to use these teams to strengthen our partners around the world and see many come to faith in Christ. Join us this week as we pray for our Short-Term teams this summer. For more information on Short-Term teams serving through Brook Hills visit brookhills.org/shortterm.
DAY 1: We will have 8 Short-Term teams serving in the month of July. These teams will be in Southeast Asia, North Africa, Middle East, New York, Detroit, Kenya, and Atlanta. Pray for these teams to be effective in their gospel witness. Pray for God’s mercy as these teams travel.
DAY 2: Pray for our Medical Teams that will be sent out to North Africa next week. Pray for God to continue to open doors into the Muslim communities where our team will be serving. Pray for the team of clinicians to be able to share the gospel with those who are physically and spiritually hurting.
DAY 3: Pray for the teams who will be serving in Atlanta, New York, and Dearborn. Thank God for bringing unreached people groups to the U.S. Pray for communication barriers to be broken down and for our teams to have access into homes and businesses so the gospel can be shared.
DAY 4: There are still many Short-Term teams that still need members to join and go. Begin praying about where you will engage in global missions this next year.
DAY 5: Short-Term mission trips do matter and are pivotal in the long-term disciple-making process of our partners. Short-Term teams also help strengthen the local church in various areas of the world. Pray for God to continue to make Brook Hills Short-Term teams effective in their ministry wherever they go.
DAY 6: Pray for God to be honored as we continue to send out our people across the world to serve and make His name known to people who have never heard before.

Brick After Brick
Verse 1
God used to dwell in a house among His people
But now He has a home that's better than the first
It doesn't look like a building with a steeple
Now He's living in the people of the Church
Chorus
Brick after brick God is building His temple
Brick after brick He is making it strong
With Christ the sure foundation
And His people as the stones
He is building a place He can live
Brick after brick
Verse 2
Christ is the Rock on which ev'rything's depending
He's making sure His house is steady as can be
His love is strong and His promises unending
And He'll protect His Church from all her enemies
Bridge
All His people gather 'round
Singing out with joyful sound
Giving glory to their Maker
And they build each other up
As they share the bread and cup
To remember their Savior
Rejoice
Verse 1
Come and stand before your maker
Full of wonder full of fear
Come behold his power and glory
Yet with confidence draw near
For the one who holds the heavens
And commands the stars above
Is the God who bends to bless us
With an unrelenting love
Chorus
Rejoice
Come and lift your hands and raise your voice
He is worthy of all praise
Rejoice
Sing the mercies of your king
And with trembling rejoice
Verse 2
We are children of the promise
The beloved of the Lord
Won with everlasting kindness
Bought with sacrificial blood
Bringing reconciliation
To a world that longs to know
The affections of a father
Who will never let them go
Verse 3
All our sickness all our sorrows
Jesus carried up the hill
He has walked this path before us
He is walking with us still
Turning tragedy to triumph
Turning agony to praise
There is blessing in the battle
So take heart and stand amazed
Chorus
Rejoice
When you cry to him he hears your voice
He will wipe away your tears
Rejoice
In the midst of suffering
He will help you sing
Bless the Lord (Son of Man)
Son of Man, Son of Righteousness
King of the earth for sinners slain
I was lost in darkness bound
You ransomed my heart and I will sing
My strength, My deliverer
The One who rescues me
My hope, My redeemer
Your love has set me free
Bless the Lord, O my soul (4x)
In the splendor of Your majesty
From deep within my spirit sings
Holy, holy
Bless the Lord, O my soul (4x)
His Mercy is More
Verse 1
What love could remember no wrongs we have done
Omniscient all knowing He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 2
What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father so tender is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest the vilest the poor
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 3
What riches of kindness He lavished on us
His blood was the payment His life was the cost
We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Chorus
Praise the Lord His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness new every morn
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Cornerstone
Verse 1
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' Name
Chorus
Christ alone cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Saviour's love
Through the storm He is Lord
Lord of all
Verse 2
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
Verse 3
When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh may I then in Him be found
Dressed in His righteousness alone
Faultless stand before the throne
When I Survey The Wondrous Cross
Verse 1
When I survey the wondrous cross
On which the Prince of glory died
My richest gain I count but loss
And pour contempt on all my pride
Verse 2
Forbid it Lord that I should boast
Save in the death of Christ my God
All the vain things that charm me most
I sacrifice them to His blood
Verse 3
See from His head His hands His feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown
Verse 4
Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were an offering far too small
Love so amazing so divine
Demands my soul my life my all
