Praise God for our brothers and sisters He has gathered together with us to form our faith family here at The Church at Brook Hills. Ask God to continue growing our church through people responding in repentance and faith to our witness to the gospel. Pray for God to strengthen the biblibcal community found in our small groups and our greater unity as a local church. Ask the Holy Spirit to continue guiding us in the mission to which God has called us and to make the most of the opportunities for gospel witness and growth with which He presents us. Pray for God to soften the hearts of people we encounter both here in Birmingham and around the world so that they might be ready to hear and respond to the gospel. Thank God for the perseverance He grants us to sustain us through hardships we face in this life.

This week we are praying for Banks Academy, a new private Christian school in the East Lake community with a mission to train and educate students with excellence and provide hope for a bright future. The High School is now entering its second year, serving 9th and 10th grade students. We are also praying for 45th Street Baptist Church, East Lake, and Pastor Andre Sparks.

DAY 1: Pray for the Principal of Banks Academy (Dr. Kathy King) and the teachers, that they will have spiritual insight into each student’s needs and will be able to minister to them effectively.

DAY 2: Pray for God to send reading and math tutors to meet with students who need additional support after school hours. Pray also for the financial resources necessary to pay these tutors, when needed.

DAY 3: Pray for financial provision from donors and partners to cover the monthly expenses for salaries, facilities, insurance, textbooks, technology, and other needs like scholarship support.

DAY 4: Pray that The Lord will send godly men and women to support the students at Banks Academy who can encourage their growth both academically and spiritually.

DAY 5: Pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will be glorified through a united front bringing education, sound biblical teaching, and Godly individuals serving together to impact high school students in this low-income community.

DAY 6: Pray that the Word of God, through the ministry of Banks Academy and other local churches, will thwart the spiritual warfare facing the community and bring peace and flourishing to East Lake.

This week we are praying for our field partner N.H., serving in Vietnam among tribal people groups. N.H. and his team are engaging unreached people groups with the gospel, training up new pastors and church leaders, and equipping the small body of believers as they share the gospel and serve their communities. DAY 1: There are at least 90 million people in Vietnam and at least 74 distinct people groups, most of which are unreached with the gospel. Pray for a movement of God among the people of Vietnam.

DAY 2: Praise God for the open doors He has given to N.H. and his team. Pray for God to sustain N.H. and his team as they work diligently to share the gospel and make disciples in a hostile environment.

DAY 3: Persecution is a reality for all believers. Pray for our brothers and sisters in a northern province who have just had their church burned down and the pastor’s home destroyed. Pray for our brothers and sisters to count it pure joy for the suffering they experience and for the church to spread as a result of this persecution.

DAY 4: On a regular basis, pastors and church leaders gather with N.H. for encouragement, accountability, and updates. The Church at Brook Hills has been a partner that helps those training times take place. Pray for the next gathering of leaders and for God to give wisdom to N.H. as he leads.

DAY 5: Pray for N.H. and his family. Pray for God to bless his marriage and to bless his children as they all work together for the sake of the gospel going forward in Vietnam.

DAY 6: Praise God for the growth of the church in Vietnam despite persecution. Pray for believers to be bold to continue to share the gospel and for the church to continue to grow as new believers are daily added in.
