Pray for the Church
Praise God for the grace He gives us. Pray for God to develop an abundant joy within us as a church. Ask Him to keep us from falling prey to legalism and to protect us from false teachers. Pray for us all to further develop a worshipful spirit.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Discovery Clubs of Alabama, a ministry of the Jimmie Hale Mission. Discovery Clubs are once-a-week, after-school Bible clubs that meet in 30 public elementary schools across the greater Birmingham area, offering fun and inspirational activities to help children know the love of Christ. Discovery Clubs teach the gospel to children while also building biblical foundations for life, developing character, and changing families. We are also praying for Altadena Valley Presbyterian Church and Pastor Brad Allison.
DAY 1: Pray for the Lord of the harvest to provide more mentors to serve in Birmingham area schools, especially the four volunteers currently needed at Oliver Elementary School.
DAY 2: Pray every Discovery Club mentor prioritizes knowing Christ and making Him known.
DAY 3: Pray for God to enable the mentors to proclaim Christ to the current culture in new and engaging ways.
DAY 4: Pray for God to continue to use Discovery Clubs to change the lives of children and their families through the gospel.
DAY 5: Pray for Discovery Clubs to be faithful to teach biblical truths to children in public schools and present the gospel message to as many elementary-age children as possible, giving them the opportunity to follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
DAY 6: Pray the Discovery Club mentors and staff will be filled afresh with the Spirit and for all they do to bring glory to God.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our East Asia Church Planting Team and members of our faith family who are serving mid-term and long-term with them.
DAY 1: We praise God for raising up and sending out many members from Brook Hills to serve on our East Asia Church Planting Team. Pray for God to give them strength and make them steadfast as they work for the sake of Christ among unreached people in their city.
DAY 2: Praise God for providing many opportunities for our East Asia Church Planting Team to build relationships with the people they were sent to engage and share the gospel with. Pray for the gospel to spread and for many to believe in Christ.
DAY 3: Recently our East Asia Church Planting Team has experienced extra scrutiny from local authorities. Pray for God to preserve their work and to give them confidence in the Spirit as they face opposition.
DAY 4: Pray Philippians 1:12, that the gospel would advance through their faithfulness no matter what situation they may face.
DAY 5: Pray for the East Asia team to be filled with rejoicing in God as they pursue Christ and boldly proclaim the gospel to those who have never heard.
DAY 6: Pray Philippians 1:28, that our East Asia team wouldn’t be frightened by those who oppose them or the gospel. Pray for our team to persevere and maximize the days the Lord has set for them.

Brick After Brick
Verse 1
God used to dwell in a house among His people
But now He has a home that's better than the first
It doesn't look like a building with a steeple
Now He's living in the people of the Church
Chorus
Brick after brick God is building His temple
Brick after brick He is making it strong
With Christ the sure foundation
And His people as the stones
He is building a place He can live
Brick after brick
Verse 2
Christ is the Rock on which ev'rything's depending
He's making sure His house is steady as can be
His love is strong and His promises unending
And He'll protect His Church from all her enemies
Bridge
All His people gather 'round
Singing out with joyful sound
Giving glory to their Maker
And they build each other up
As they share the bread and cup
To remember their Savior
Bless the Lord (Son of Man)
Son of Man, Son of Righteousness
King of the earth for sinners slain
I was lost in darkness bound
You ransomed my heart and I will sing
My strength, My deliverer
The One who rescues me
My hope, My redeemer
Your love has set me free
Bless the Lord, O my soul (4x)
In the splendor of Your majesty
From deep within my spirit sings
Holy, holy
Bless the Lord, O my soul (4x)
His Mercy is More
Verse 1
What love could remember no wrongs we have done
Omniscient all knowing He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 2
What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father so tender is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest the vilest the poor
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 3
What riches of kindness He lavished on us
His blood was the payment His life was the cost
We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Chorus
Praise the Lord His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness new every morn
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
You Never Change
Oh may I run to no other refuge
No other rest for my soul
Oh may I drink from no other fountain
Where living waters will flow
Jesus you're all I need
Jesus you're all I need
You are my life, may You be lifted high
There is no other like Jesus Christ
You are my story, You're my everything
You are my glory, my God and my King
You are my rock, and You never change
No other power can break the darkness
No other hand that can save
Forever faithful, Your love is stronger
I trust in no other name
Jesus you're all I need
Jesus you're all I need
My strength to stand, all of my days are in Your hand
My light to see, Your glory goes before me (x2)
My King, You reign
My rock and You never change
No, You never change
Not in Me
No list of sins I have not done
No list of virtues I pursue
No list of those I am not like
Can earn myself a place with you
O God! Be merciful to me
I am a sinner through and through
My only hope of righteousness
Is not in me, but only You
No humble dress, no fervent prayer
No lifted hands, no tearful song
No recitation of the truth
Can justify a single wrong
My righteousness is Jesus' life
My debt was paid by Jesus' death
My weary load was borne by Him
And He alone can give me rest
No separation from the world
No work I do, no gift I give
Can cleanse my conscience, cleanse my hands
I cannot cause my soul to live
But Jesus died and rose again
The power of death is overthrown
My God is merciful to me
And merciful in Christ alone
My righteousness is Jesus' life
My debt was paid by Jesus' death
My weary load was borne by Him
And He alone can give me rest
And He alone can give me rest
