Pray for the Church
Praise God for the opportunities He gives us to be a bold witness for Him. Ask Him to help us all graciously engage our neighbors this evening. Pray we will all display the love of Christ. Ask for wisdom to know how best to begin gospel conversations. Pray for God to help us shine as lights in our dark world pointing others to Him.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for BH Hispanic Congregation’s Trunk or Treat on Lorna Road happening today, October 31. This is a strategic step in our vision to reach internationals in the Hoover area with the gospel in partnership with First Baptist Church of Hoover. We’re also praying this week for Shades Mountain Community Church and Pastor Rick Goertzen.
Day 1: Pray for the Trunk or Treat happening today. Pray that all the hard work of passing out flyers and preparing for the day would show international friends and other neighbors that they are loved and welcomed on FBC Hoover’s campus. Pray that the BH Hispanic Congregation’s love for Jesus would be clear in all they say and do.
Day 2: Pray for the children that will visit Trunk or Treat at FBC Hoover. Pray especially for the children that don’t yet know Jesus. Pray that their relationships with Christ would deepen and produce fruit.
Day 3: Pray for the families of our Trunk or Treat visitors. Pray that the Lord would be pursuing them and preparing their hearts to hear the gospel message. Pray that as the gospel is spreading throughout Birmingham, for it to also be spreading in their home countries. Pray for the families living in their home countries to also come to know the gospel and share it with those in their city as well.
Day 4: Pray for the internationals living in Hoover. Pray that as FBC Hoover and the BH Hispanic Congregation work together to reach all the different ethnicities found in the Lorna Road area, the Holy Spirit would be moving before them to soften hearts. Pray that many would come to know Jesus.
Day 5: Pray for financial provision for FBC Hoover and the BH Hispanic Congregation as they seek to work together to reach the internationals in our city. Pray that as they share space and resources, the Lord would continue to unite them in their vision for Hoover and abundantly bless them for their efforts.
Day 6: Pray for the BH Hispanic Congregation this holiday season as they seek to lean into meeting immediate needs while sharing the gospel. The holidays are a perfect time for explaining the who, what, where, and why of our celebrations. Pray for our Hispanic Congregation as they engage with internationals throughout the holidays. Pray for their upcoming Christmas outreach event on December 17 in Hoover.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our Short-Term team serving in the Middle East as part of the Desert City Initiative. They will primarily be engaging people from all over the world who have come to visit the Desert City, along with encouraging the team that lives and works there. If you are interested in joining one of the Desert City Short-Term teams visit brookhills.org/shortterm. We would love to have you join a team.
Day 1: Praise God for the opportunity to send members of our faith family to engage the Desert City.
Day 2: Pray for God to provide them with many opportunities to meet people from all over the world who are searching for Christ and are open to the gospel.
Day 3: Pray for God to give our team boldness to share and clarity to proclaim the good news of what Christ has done.
Day 4: Pray for the team as they encourage our faith family members who are living and working in the Desert City. Pray for sweet times of fellowship and encouragement so they can endure and enjoy the work God has given them as long-term workers there.
Day 5: Pray for members of our Short-Term team to be exposed to the realities of the world and the need for more workers in the Desert City. Pray that some on the team might have their eyes opened to see opportunities where they could join in and invest more deeply Mid-Term or Long-Term.
Day 6: Pray for God to be glorified through the team that is on the ground this week. Pray that He would be honored in the way they love one another and those they come in contact with. Pray that God would use their faithfulness to impact the lives of those they encounter.
