Pray for the Church
Thank God for the freedom from sin He has granted us by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Pray for all of the men and women who currently serve in our military and have served in the past. Ask God to strengthen them and to comfort them with His presence. Pray for the gospel to spread throughout the ranks of our military and for us to have ministry opportunities among the many veterans here in our city.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for the Lovelady Center, a residential, Christian ministry dedicated to empowering women to overcome barriers, such as addiction, homelessness, and prison re-entry, and to walk forward with faith-driven hope for the future. The Lovelady Center serves over 500 women and children daily and is the largest transitional program of its kind in the country. We are also praying for Red Mountain Church and Pastor Will Spokes.
DAY 1: Pray for the women and children at the Lovelady Center to be receptive to the gospel and yielded to the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
DAY 2: Pray for the Lovelady Center staff and leadership as they discern the needs of the Loveladies and their children.
DAY 3: Pray for the volunteers to know how to best minister to each woman and to follow God’s leading to help restore them to His good design for their lives. Pray for fruitful work from their partners like WorkFaith Birmingham that join them in their efforts.
DAY 4: Pray for the funding available from generous donors and partners to match the current ministry needs.
DAY 5: Pray for the real estate closing of Carraway Hospital, property currently owned by the Lovelady Center, so they will have more resources to serve the women and their families under their influence.
DAY 6: Pray for the staff, volunteers, and clients who grieve the loss of the Lovelady Center’s first client and fellow staff member, Shay Curry-Bell.
Pray for the World
This week, we are praying for the Southern Pashtun of Afghanistan. The Pashtun make up the largest population of people in Afghanistan, the Southern Pashtun being the largest bloc. Pashtun on both sides of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border comprise what has been called the largest Muslim tribal society in the world. Christians among them remain few. The Islamic religion is very difficult to influence, and converts to Christianity often endure banishment from society and their family. Consequently, there is little growth among the Pashtun. Join us as we pray for the Southern Pashtun of Afghanistan. We are also praying for our Short-Term teams serving in England and in Cambodia. We are also praying for our Short-Term teams serving in England and in Cambodia.
DAY 1: There is little to no gospel work among this large and difficult people group. Ask God to call believers, perhaps even from Brook Hills, to live and work in Afghanistan and share Christ with the Pashtun.
Day 2: Pashtun culture adheres to a rigid “code of ethics” making the influence of outsiders very difficult. Ask God to soften the hearts of the Pashtun towards Christians so that they will be open to the gospel.
DAY 3: Afghanistan can be a violent and volatile place. Ask God to open the doors and provide pathways for believers and Christian agencies to work among the Pashtun.
DAY 4: Pray for peace in the land of the Pashtun people.
DAY 5: Despite the challenges, there are some Pashtun believers in Afghanistan. Many are isolated and fearful. Pray God would encourage and protect the small number of Pashtun believers and strengthen the church as they study the Word and gather together.
DAY 6: Pray for God to move among the Pashtun. Pray for God to raise up faithful, gospel-proclaiming believers and provide the way forward so the gospel can spread and many Pashtun hearts will turn to Christ.

Glorious Day
Verse 1
I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb 'til I met You
Verse 2
I was breathing but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb 'til I met You
Chorus
('Cause when) You called my name (and)
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
You called my name (and) I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
Verse 3
Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new Jesus when I met You
Bridge
I needed rescue my sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of Heaven
When I was broken You were my healing
Now Your love is the air that I'm breathing
I have a future my eyes are open
Living Hope
Verse 1
How great the chasm that lay between us
How high the mountain I could not climb
In desperation I turned to heaven
And spoke Your name into the night
Then through the darkness Your loving-kindness
Tore through the shadows of my soul
The work is finished the end is written
Jesus Christ my living hope
Verse 2
Who could imagine so great a mercy
What heart could fathom such boundless grace
The God of ages stepped down from glory
To wear my sin and bear my shame
The cross has spoken I am forgiven
The King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful Savior I’m Yours forever
Jesus Christ my living hope
Chorus
Hallelujah praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah death has lost its grip on me
You have broken every chain
There’s salvation in Your name
Jesus Christ my living hope
Verse 3
Then came the morning that sealed the promise
Your buried body began to breathe
Out of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared the grave has no claim on me
(REPEAT)
Jesus Yours is the victory whoa
Ending
Jesus Christ my living hope
Oh God You are my living hope
What Your Mercy Did For Me

Death and darkness were my only songs
I needed someone to come rescue me
Then mercy heard my plea
Chorus
Lord You found me You healed me
You called me from the grave
You gave me a real love
I thank You Jesus
You washed my sins away
Oh now I'm living like I'm forgiven
You came and set me free
That's what Your mercy did for me

And now I'm living day to day by Your grace
So excuse me if I can't contain my praise
'Cause I know that I've been saved

I'm a child of God
Yes I am

Christ is Mine Forevermore
Verse 1
Mine are days that God has numbered
I was made to walk with Him
Yet I look for worldly treasure
And forsake the King of kings
Chorus 1
But mine is hope in my Redeemer
Though I fall His love is sure
For Christ has paid for every failing
I am His forevermore
Verse 2
Mine are tears in times of sorrow
Darkness not yet understood
Through the valley I must travel
Where I see no earthly good
Chorus 2
But mine is peace that flows from heaven
And the strength in times of need
I know my pain will not be wasted
Christ completes His work in me
Verse 3
Mine are days here as a stranger
Pilgrim on a narrow way
One with Christ I will encounter
Harm and hatred for His name
Chorus 3
But mine is armour for this battle
Strong enough to last the war
And He has said He will deliver
Safely to the golden shore
Chorus 4
And mine are keys to Zion city
Where beside the King I walk
For there my heart has found its treasure
Christ is mine forevermore
Bridge
Come rejoice now O my soul
For His love is my reward
Fear is gone and hope is sure
Christ is mine forevermore
