Pray for the Church
Praise God for His faithfulness toward us and provision in our lives. Thank Him for all He has done and continues to do for us. Pray for Him to develop a spirit of gratitude within each of us. Ask Him to develop us further into a giving people who freely share from all He has given to us.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Red Mountain Grace, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing gracious, low-cost housing to out-of-town patients and caregivers during their extended medical stays in Birmingham. Red Mountain Grace was co-founded by Brook Hills member, Jason Carroll. We’re also praying for Faith Presbyterian Church and Pastor Jason Sterling.
Day 1: Pray for the families that are currently being housed through Red Mountain Grace to find comfort and peace through Jesus Christ as they walk through the valley of medical trials, and sometimes death. Pray for these families to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior through the testimony of the church as they serve them if they are not yet Christ-followers.
Day 2: Pray for the strength of the caregivers to be renewed daily. Pray for them to find hope and strength in Jesus.
Day 3: Pray for wisdom for the medical professionals that are serving the RMG families. Pray for God to guide their hands and their minds as they seek to find the best treatments.
Day 4: Pray for relief from financial stress for the RMG families. Pray for the Lord to make a way when medical bills and travel expenses seem to be overwhelming.
Day 5: Pray for God to strengthen and guide the staff and volunteers of RMG and to equip them with what they need to serve the sick and their families well. Pray for them to be full of empathy for their neighbor in need.
Day 6: Praise God for those who support RMG both spiritually and financially. Pray for God to stir the hearts of more people to get involved.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the people of Myanmar. Myanmar, also known as Burma, is in Southeast Asia. It neighbors Thailand, Laos, Bangladesh, China, and India. It has a population of roughly 54 million, most of whom are Burmese speakers. The main religion is Buddhism. There are many ethnic minority groups in the country, including Rohingya Muslims. On February 1st of this year, the military seized control of the country and declared a coup following a general election for presidency. Since then, many have suffered and died in protest of the military takeover.
Day 1: This week the United Nations warned that the humanitarian situation in Myanmar is quickly deteriorating, with more than three million people in need of life-saving aid. Pray for Brook Hills partners who are trying to gain access in order to support local churches as they care for those in need.
Day 2: Pray for God to protect the people of Myanmar. Pray for Him to provide for those who are suffering due to a lack of food, being displaced from their homes, and a weakened public health system compounded by Covid.
Day 3: There is a small council of churches in Myanmar that is working diligently to shepherd the local church and care for them in this time of crisis. Pray for God to provide wisdom for church pastors and leaders as they lead in this crisis.
Day 4: Pray for God to provide inroads for Brook Hills partners as they try to access believers and send resources that are desperately needed. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they continue to navigate a very delicate situation.
Day 5: Pray for believers in Myanmar to find hope in Christ as they suffer. Pray for God to make them steadfast as they endure hardship. Pray for the church to grow in this season and for others to see that Christ is our only peace.
Day 6: Pray for God to intervene in the lives of the leaders in Myanmar. Pray that they would repent and turn from evil ways and seek the good of their people.
