Pray for the Church
Praise God for putting us to death to the law that we might have new life in Christ. Ask Him to help us all live as ones who belong to Him and not the law of sin and death. Pray for us to grow in understanding of our new relationship to God’s law, and ask Him for the strength to obediently follow Him wherever He leads us.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the Birmingham Metro Baptist Association, a cooperative effort of local Southern Baptist churches working together to create gospel advancement opportunities that reach beyond the efforts of an individual congregation. The mission of BMBA is to build the kingdom of God across Metro Birmingham and beyond. We are especially praying for Chris Crain, the Executive Director. This week we are also praying for Lakeside Baptist Church and Pastor Greg Corbin.
Day 1: Pray for BMBA pastors across the city as they navigate COVID-19 and shepherd their churches during the pandemic. Pray for God’s guidance and wisdom as they begin leading their congregations back to normalcy.
Day 2: Pray for the BMBA as they relocate to their new facility. Pray for smooth transitions and good timing for all of the various tasks that still need to be finalized. Pray that the signage, furniture, printer installation, and construction details all fall into place.
Day 3: Pray specifically for Josh Cook, BMBA Church Revitalization Specialist, as he seeks to help churches in need of revitalization. Pray that as he coaches and trains pastors in the work of church revitalization, pastors would be able to lead their congregations into the future God has for them. Pray for new growth to occur in these churches and that many would come to know the name of Jesus because of them.
Day 4: Pray for the BMBA as they begin a season of strategic planning. Pray for their visioning process with Will Mancini. Pray they will be able to use the training and new vision to reach more people across the city with the gospel and the name of the Lord will be glorified through it.
Day 5: Pray for the WMU Helen White/Evie Eubank Offering coming up in May. Pray that the Lord would multiply these offerings as they are used for associational missions, such as Women on Mission, GA’s & RA’s, and Mission Friends. Pray for June Whitlow, WMU BMBA Director, as she encourages more women to participate in WMU and as she leads this ministry.
Day 6: Pray for strengthened relationships between the BMBA and current church partners. Pray for the relationships the BMBA already has in place with ministry partners and parachurch organizations like WorkFaith Birmingham, Metro Changers, Pathways, and Discovery Clubs. Pray for new relationships to develop with other churches and ministries over the next year.
