Pray for the Church
Praise God for calling us to faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Pray for Him to continue to unite us together with one another as a local church and with brothers and sisters around the world as His global church. Pray for those you know still trapped in their sin to see their need for a Savior and to turn to Christ to redeem and rescue them. Ask God to add to our church those He is saving.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Lifeline Children’s Services, a Christ-centered, holistic, orphan-care ministry with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. Lifeline serves families by supporting them in adoption, foster care, education, and international orphan care. Lifeline is led by Brook Hills member, Herbie Newell. We are also praying for Liberty Park Baptist Church and Pastor Randy Overstreet.
Day 1: Pray for the Lifeline staff team to be rooted in prayer, the Word, and the gospel.
Day 2: Pray for more mission-minded families to step forward and become foster parents.
Day 3: Pray for more women experiencing crisis pregnancies to find Lifeline’s services and for the Lifeline team to
have stamina and godly wisdom to care for them.
Day 4: Pray for the success of Lifeline’s efforts to reach ‘aging out’ orphans, particularly in Pakistan, India, Colombia, and
other countries.
Day 5: Pray for the church in Colombia as they aim to organize a better means of caring for orphans through domestic
foster care and adoption.
Day 6: Pray for the support of the recently approved anti-abortion bill that will make abortion illegal in Alabama. Pray for
Lifeline as they testify and actively participate in this legislation. Pray for Christians to stand in the gap for unwanted
children and consider adopting them.
Pray for the World
For the next few weeks, Muslims all over the world will observe Ramadan and abstain from food, drink, and other pleasures during the day in order to try and remove their sin and draw closer to God. Brook Hills has strategically sent out workers and teams to many Muslim people groups around the world for gospel engagement. This week we want to focus our prayers on the Hui people in East Asia. There are 15 million Hui spread across East Asia and only 1500 known believers. Below are prayer requests for real men and women Brook Hills members are engaging. To learn more about the Hui and ways to pray during Ramadan, visit pray4hui.com.
Day 1: Pray for the Hui as they observe Ramadan this month. Pray for God to move among them and cause their hearts
to be dissatisfied with trying to gain salvation through their works. Pray for God to help them see their need for a Savior in
Christ Jesus.
Day 2: Persecution is a reality for Hui as the government grows against Islam. Pray for Christians to reach out and love the Hui. Persecution is a reality for Hui background believers. Pray for God to make these believers steadfast, even as they are isolated from their community.
Day 3: Pray for seekers, Hui Muslims who are interested in learning more about Christianity. Pray they would meet Christians who would love them and point them to Christ.
Day 4: There is a sense of superiority that the majority Han people feel against the minority Hui people in East Asia. Pray for the Han to realize they are not superior to the Hui. Pray this realization would come through faith in Christ. Pray for Han believers to go against the norm as they love the Hui and share the gospel with them.
Day 5: Pray for the Hui who have heard the gospel. Pray for their knowledge to move to repentance and faith.
Day 6: Pray for God to save Hui men and women. Pray for God to send out many laborers into His harvest who can gain access to the Hui. Pray for God’s name to be glorified among the Hui.
