Pray for the Church
Praise God for working all things together for our good. Ask Him to help us all live confident of what He has accomplished for us and is accomplishing in and through us. Thank Him for His great love for us and for the reminder that nothing can separate us from His love.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the families of Oliver Elementary School and the Love Oliver Campaign that launches today. Through Love Oliver, Brook Hills has the opportunity to join the families and partners of Oliver Elementary in overcoming the economic, academic, spiritual, and social barriers that the Oliver families face while pointing them to the perfect redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Find out how you can love Oliver at brookhills.org/loveoliver. We’re also praying this week for New Community Baptist Church and Pastor Donnie Chapman.
Day 1: Oliver families are up against a host of economic, academic, and spiritual hurdles. Pray for God to enable us to minister to their tangible needs and point them to the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Pray God would call other Christ-followers to serve them in Jesus’ Name.
Day 2: Pray for the volunteers preparing to return to the Oliver campus this fall for the first time in over a year. Pray for all of the ministries that connect these mentors to students: Discovery Club, Breakfast Club, Lunch Club, Oak Tree Ministries Reading and Bible Clubs, Aspire Movement, STAIR tutoring, and as classroom buddies. Pray that God will lead the mentors serving in these roles to exemplify the unconditional, selfless love of Christ.
Day 3: Pray that God would save and raise up a generation of young disciples at Oliver Elementary School, and through Oak Tree Ministries, who will let their light shine among their peers and families.
Day 4: Pray for the Love Oliver campaign as we aim to raise $45,000 by June 13 for new technology programs, including a robotics club and rolling science lab, in addition to classroom supplies, backpacks, and vouchers for student clothing in order to help relieve the financial burden on Oliver families as they prepare for the first day of school.
Day 5: Pray for Oak Tree Ministries, a partner of Love Oliver and Brook Hills, as they provide relief, development, and discipleship opportunities for Oliver families through the Sunday Bible Club, After-School Reading Club, Teen Hang Time, Women’s Fellowship, and other avenues.
Day 6: Pray for our faith family and community partners to work together in unity to invest time, care, resources, and prayer into our neighbors at Oliver, and that God would do a transforming work in the Gate City community.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the people of the country of Chad in Africa. By God’s grace, The Church at Brook Hills partners with Neverthirst to complete water projects in Chad while strengthening local believers and pastors who are engaging the least reached with the gospel. Join us this week as we pray for those who benefit from clean water through the projects of Neverthirst. Pray also that the gospel would spread as men and women there faithfully declare what God has done through Jesus and that many would come to faith in Him.
Day 1: Chad has a population of over 16 million. A large percentage of those are considered least reached and have never heard the gospel. Pray for God to make a way for Christ to be made known throughout every city and village in Chad.
Day 2: Over half of the population in Chad are Muslim or Animists. Pray for God to break the cultural barriers that these beliefs have created. Pray for God to open the eyes of men and women to see their need for a Savior.
Day 3: Pray for the believers and pastors we are partnering with in Chad through the Neverthirst water projects. Pray that God would use the boldness of the brothers and sisters there to declare His glory to those who have never heard. Pray for God to strengthen the believers as they faithfully declare all that Christ has done.
Day 4: Training of leaders remains a major challenge. Pray for the key pastors who are strategically reaching out to train more leaders and more pastors. Pray for God to break down anything that might hinder their growth as a believer. Pray for new generations of leaders to be developed so the gospel will continue to spread.
Day 5: Pray for God to use the water projects we are helping to establish as a way to gain access into the homes and lives of the Chadian people. Pray for God to prepare the hearts of those who will benefit from this project to hear the gospel and respond.
Day 6: Pray for the small but growing number of Chadian missionaries who are involved in pioneer church planting and Bible translation. Pray for God to embolden them and give them unhindered access into the villages of the least reached.
