Pray for the Church
Praise God for the transformation He works in our lives through our faith in Him. Pray for God to encourage us in our walk with Him through the examples we find in HIs Word and the faithful witness of other Christ-followers. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict us of sin in our lives and to empower us to resist temptation to sin. Pray for strength to persevere in our following after Christ.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Hearts in Hands, Inc. (heartsinhands.org), a local non-profit ministry founded by members of Brook Hills that provides home repair services and wheelchair ramp construction for poor and elderly people in the greater Birmingham area. Hearts in Hands strives to engage the poor with the gospel while meeting their physical needs. We are also praying for Meadow Brook Baptist Church and Pastor Chris Jones.
Day 1: Pray for Hearts in Hands to remain steadfast in their mission to exalt the name of Jesus Christ in Birmingham.
Day 2: Pray for God to provide wisdom to the Hearts in Hands leadership team as they seek to fill voids on the board and among the officers.
Day 3: Pray for word to spread about this ministry so more people in need can encounter the love of God through the ministry of Hearts in Hands.
Day 4: Pray for God to send men and women willing to serve with Hearts in Hands through prayer and through discipleship.
Day 5: Pray for God to provide skilled laborers with handyman experience or the ability to lead projects to serve regularly as volunteers.
Day 6: Pray for those who are being impacted by the ministry of Hearts in Hands. Pray for God to soften their hearts to the gospel and draw them to Himself.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Northern Yemeni Arabs, an unengaged and unreached people group in Yemen. There are approximately 10 million Northern Yemeni Arabs inside the country of Yemen. The primary language is Sanaani Arabic and the primary religion is Shia Islam. Most of their people live in the northern mountains and northeastern deserts of Yemen, some are in the capital city of Sana’a. According to research there are 0.00% Evangelical Christians in this people group. Join us as we pray for the Northern Yemeni Arabs of Yemen. For more information visit brookhills.org/people-groups.
Day 1: Yemen, one of the Arab world’s poorest countries, has been devastated by a civil war that began in 2015. Praise God for He is in control of nations and governments, kings and rulers. A peace agreement was recently agreed upon last month. Pray for God to intervene and bring peace to those who suffer.
Day 2: Yemen is not easily accessible to outsiders, and not open to Christian testimony. Pray for God to open doors into the country and into the Northern Yemeni community. Pray for the gospel to spread in ways that transcend boundaries.
Day 3: Pray for the Northern Yemeni Arabs to increasingly hunger for the righteousness and forgiveness found only in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Day 4: Pray for the few known believers outside of Yemen to grow in holiness and love. Pray for access into their homeland where they can share who Christ is and make His name known to their families and communities.
Day 5: Pray for God to raise up believers to count the cost and go for the sake of the Northern Yemeni Arabs knowing Christ.
Day 6: Pray for God to move among the Northern Yemeni Arabs of Yemen. Pray for their hearts to be softened and their eyes opened to their need for a Savior.
