Scripture Memory
Pray for the Church
Praise God for His faithfulness toward us and ask Him to develop faithfulness within us as a people in our worship of Him. Ask
God to help us maintain our focus on the gospel and it’s effect on our lives and world. Pray for God to unite us together as a faith family in our worship of Him and to teach us to worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
Pray for the City
This week we are interceding on behalf of human trafficking victims in Birmingham. With an estimated 36 million people enslaved worldwide in various forms of sexual and labor exploitation, slavery is more prevalent today than at any other point in history. Research over the past few years has shown that Birmingham is no exception to this problem. Join us in asking God to put an end to the terrible injustice that is plaguing our world on a local, national, and global level. We are also praying for Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church and Pastor Bob Flayhart.
DAY 1: Pray for God to protect, rescue, and restore human trafficking victims in our own city who have been unable to escape their circumstances. Ask God to send his Holy Spirit to comfort the afflicted and be a very present help for them in times of trouble.
DAY 2: Pray for God to bring awareness to the Body of Christ concerning modern-day slavery, awakening the community, nation, and world to the personal and societal destruction caused by forced labor and prostitution.
DAY 3: Pray for the Church to be compelled by the biblical mandate in Scripture to seek justice for the oppressed. Ask God to inspire and equip local government authorities to combat slavery in all its forms.
DAY 4: Sex trafficking and pornography are very closely linked. Pray for sexual purity within the Church. Pray for individuals struggling with sexual sin and ministries like Awaken that are helping adults find freedom in Christ.
DAY 5: Ask Jesus for an awakening among the worst offenders of human trafficking. Pray they would repent of their sin, turn to Jesus, and become forces for freedom.
DAY 6: Pray for our Local Missions partner, The WellHouse, and other organizations in Birmingham and around the world that God has called to serve victims of human trafficking. Pray for God to grant them favor and influence in their communities and success in their mission.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Term Missionaries Dwight and Mary Kay Martin serving in Thailand. Dwight and Mary Kay
were commissioned from The Church at Brook Hills many years ago and currently serve with Cross Ties Asia. Their role is to lead a ministry that supports and mobilizes the Thai church for evangelism, disciple-making, and church planting. Dwight and Mary Kay have led the
development of a software that helps map out where unreached people groups still exist in Thailand and help with translation and
distribution of disciple-making materials for pastors. For more information visit crosstiesasia.org.
DAY 1: Praise God for the church in Thailand. Praise God for the vision He has given to Thai pastors to share the gospel in villages and
communities where unreached people groups still exist in Thailand. Pray for the Spirit to equip them for this work.
DAY 2: Pray for believers throughout Thailand to be faithful to share the gospel and for the pastors to equip their people for the
work of evangelism.
DAY 3: Dwight and Mary Kay are very busy with the work the Lord is accomplishing through them. Pray for times of rest.
DAY 4: Pray for the Lord to provide the resources needed to continue ministry each year in Thailand.
DAY 5: Pray for the Thai church to continue to grow in their love for Christ and to be obedient to make disciples.
DAY 6: Pray for God to continue to glorify Himself through Dwight and Mary Kay’s ministry. Pray for their year to be fruitful as they
host teams and continue to serve the local church there in Thailand.
This Is Amazing Grace
Verse 1
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Verse 2
Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Chorus
This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life
That I would be set free
Oh Jesus I sing for all that You've done for me
Verse 3
Who brings our chaos back into order
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter
The King of Glory the King of Glory
Verse 4
Who rules the nations with truth and justice
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance
The King of Glory the King above all kings
Bridge
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy is the King who conquered the grave
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Worthy worthy worthy
Come People of the Risen King
Verse 1
Come people of the Risen King
Who delight to bring Him praise
Come all and tune your hearts to sing
To the Morning Star of grace
From the shifting shadows of the earth
We will lift our eyes to Him
Where steady arms of mercy reach
To gather children in
Chorus
Rejoice rejoice let ev'ry tongue rejoice
One heart one voice
O Church of Christ rejoice
Verse 2
Come those whose joy is morning sun
And those weeping through the night
Come those who tell of battles won
And those struggling in the fight
For His perfect love will never change
And His mercies never cease
But follow us through all our days
With the certain hope of peace
Verse 3
Come young and old from ev'ry land
Men and women of the faith
Come those with full or empty hands
Find the riches of His grace
Over all the world His people sing
Shore to shore we hear them call
The truth that cries through ev'ry age
Our God is all in all
O Praise the Name
Verse 1
I cast my mind to Calvary
Where Jesus bled and died for me
I see His wounds His hands His feet
My Savior on that cursed tree
Verse 2
His body bound and drenched in tears
They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone
Messiah still and all alone
Chorus
O praise the Name of the Lord our God
O praise His Name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
O Lord O Lord our God
Verse 3
Then on the third at break of dawn
The Son of heaven rose again
O trampled death where is your sting
The angels roar for Christ the King
Verse 4
He shall return in robes of white
The blazing sun shall pierce the night
And I will rise among the saints
My gaze transfixed on Jesus' face
Christ is Risen
Verse 1
Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
But fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to Him who showed great love
And bled for us
Freely You've bled for us
Chorus 1
Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with Him again
Come awake come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Verse 2
Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bowed to none but heaven's will
No scheme of hell no scoffer's crown
No burden great can hold You down
In strength You reign
Forever let Your church proclaim
Bridge
O death where is your sting
O hell where is your victory
O church come stand in the light
The glory of God has defeated the night
Singing O death where is your sting
O hell where is your victory
O church come stand in the light
Our God is not dead He's alive He's alive
