Pray for the Church
Praise God for establishing for us a pattern of work and rest. Pray for Him to help us all learn to live according to this pattern. Pray we will prioritize rest in our lives as an act of faith and worship. Pray for us all to find our ultimate rest in God.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Abiding Hearts Home Care, a gospel-centered ministry led by Brook Hills members Randy and Courtney Johnson. Abiding Hearts Home Care provides living assistance, home maintenance, and physical, spiritual, and psychological care to the sick, elderly, and widowed. They also provide an avenue for life-on-life discipleship to those in need in our city. We’re also praying this week for Grace and Truth Church and Pastor Henry Tolbert.
Day 1: Pray for those serving with Abiding Hearts Home Care to abide deeply in Jesus and draw closer to Him every day. Pray for additional volunteer servants to join the team.
Day 2: Pray for the people ministered to by Abiding Hearts Home Care to see the love, compassion, and presence of Jesus as they spend time meeting their healthcare and practical living needs. Pray for many to be strengthened in their faith in God and praise Him wholeheartedly as a result of seeing Christ through the volunteers and staff.
Day 3: Pray for God to lead the Abiding Hearts Home Care team to the people He desires them to serve.
Day 4: Pray for committed financial supporters so that Abiding Hearts Home Care can care for more people who are unable to access the care that they need due to a lack of financial and family resources.
Day 5: Pray for God to provide a handicap accessible van for Abiding Hearts Home Care so they can more easily and safely transport the people they serve to healthcare appointments.
Day 6: Pray for the Abiding Hearts Home Care staff, board, and volunteers to trust the Lord to provide all that they need to carry out the work He has entrusted to them.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Northern Yemeni Arabs. There are approximately 11 million Northern Yemeni Arabs inside the country of Yemen. The primary language is Sanaani Arabic and the primary religion is Shia Islam. Most of their people live in the northern mountains and north-eastern deserts of Yemen, though some are in the capital city of Sana’a. According to research, there are few, if any, Evangelical Christians in this people group and no one is actively engaging them with the gospel. Join us this week as we pray for the Northern Yemeni Arabs of Yemen.
Day 1: Yemen is one of the Arab world’s poorest countries and has been devastated by a civil war that began in 2015. Pray for God’s peace to come to the people and land of Yemen.
Day 2: Pray for the Northern Yemeni Arabs to hunger for righteousness and forgiveness found only in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Day 3: Yemen is not easily accessible to outsiders and not open to Christian testimony. Pray for God to open doors into the country and into the Northern Yemeni community. Pray for the gospel to spread in ways that transcend boundaries.
Day 4: Pray for the few known Yemeni believers outside of Yemen to grow in holiness and love. Pray for access into their homeland where they can share Christ and make His name known to their families and communities.
Day 5: Pray for God to raise up believers to count the cost and go for the sake of the Northern Yemeni Arabs knowing Christ.
Day 6: Pray for God to move among the Northern Yemeni Arabs of Yemen. Pray for their hearts to be softened and their eyes opened to see their need for a Savior.
