Praise God the Father for sending His Spirit to be our ever-present Helper in this world. Pray for Him to develop boldness within us in regards to our gospel witness and loving care for those around us. Ask Him to grant us wisdom and to lead us in taking risks for the sake of the growth of His Kingdom. Pray for God to grow our faith in Him and trust in all He is doing in and through us as individuals and a faith family.

This week we are praying for Serving You Ministries (servingyou.org), a Christ-centered non-profit serving as a ministry arm to local churches and corporations by partnering together to reach a lost and hurting world through crisis relief and benevolence ministry. Serving You Ministries shares office and ministry space with WorkFaith Birmingham and partners with Brook Hills to serve those in need who come to us outside of our faith family. We are also praying for First Baptist Church of Trussville and Pastor Buddy Champion.

DAY 1: Pray for all who come to seek material assistance through Serving You Ministries. Pray for God to meet their specific needs and for them to hear, understand, and receive the gospel.

DAY 2: Pray for the continual strengthening of SYM’s local church partnerships so they may best assist local churches to minister to those in crisis through financial assistance, food, and clothing. Pray for more volunteers from those local churches.

DAY 3: Pray for unity for SYM and their many development partners, including Abiding Hearts Home Care, Changed Lives Christian Center, Discovery Clubs, Lovelady Center, Oak Tree Ministries, WorkFaith Birmingham, and many others.

DAY 4: Pray for the upcoming Serve Week (Serving Younited) the week of July 24-27. Pray for many from Brook Hills and East Lake area churches to participate, and that the event will have great impact for the good of the city and for the glory of God.

DAY 5: Pray for financial blessing as Serving You Ministries seeks God’s favor on eight pending grants.

DAY 6: Pray for the upcoming Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction on April 28 at FBC Trussville. Pray that all 280 tickets will sell and that the event will be an encouragement to those who partner with SYM to care for the underprivileged in Birmingham (servingyou.org/auction).

This week we are praying for the team of individuals and families God has called out to be part of our KL City Team. The Global Cities Initiative was introduced to our faith family last Spring and is a pilot partnership between local churches and the IMB to mobilize Christians to use their marketable skills to join church planting teams in five major world cities. The goal is to integrate students, professionals, and retirees into the work of making disciples and multiplying churches among unreached people groups in these cities. By God’s grace, He has raised up a team from Brook Hills to go to KL as part of this project. We are also praying for our team serving in Central Asia, and a team of students serving in New York City.

DAY 1: Give thanks to God for how He has called three families and four students from Brook Hills to join the Global Cities Initiative in KL. Pray for more people to join that team in the future.

DAY 2: Pray for Patrick and Vivian as they prepare to move to KL at the end of this month. Pray for God’s mercy as they transition into the city, find a home, jobs, and get settled into a new community.

DAY 3: Pray for Lee and Lara as they continue to raise support. Pray for God to provide the resources needed to move their family this summer. Pray for God to continue to use this time to prepare their family for life and ministry in the city.

DAY 4: Royce and Sandra will join the team this summer. Pray for God to sell their home in Birmingham and provide a home in KL for them to live and host others in. Praise God for how He is using their retirement in this unique way.

DAY 5: Pray for our student mid-termers who will be living, studying, and making disciples. Pray for God to use these graduates to make His name known in KL and to be pivotal in the advancement of His kingdom among unreached people groups there.

DAY 6: Pray for this team to be unified under the calling God has given to each of them. Pray for God to help them integrate into the existing city team. Pray for God to glorify Himself and use our friends as they pioneer this new work. Pray for many to know Christ as a result of all of these things.
