Pray for the Church
Praise God for the gift of children in our faith family. Pray for parents to faithfully point children to their Heavenly Father and for children to come to God as Lord and Savior. Pray for children to grow into mend and women who love and serve God. Pray for parents to discipline children in love and to bring them up in the fear and instruction of the Lord. Ask God to help us as a faith family to support and pour into the lives of children and parents alike. Pray for God to strengthen marriages and to empower fathers to lead families well.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the ministry of WorkFaith Birmingham (workfaithbhm.org), a Christ-centered non-profit workforce preparation and life development ministry focused on helping adults in transition who face employment barriers. WFB was started by Pastor Keith Stanley, our Local Missions Pastor, to provide an avenue to bring the Body of Christ alongside adults needing skill development to get a job and keep a job, and to develop Christian ethics to maintain work. We are praying for them as they celebrate three years of workshops where they have served over 300 adults. We are also praying for 16th Street Baptist Church and Pastor Arthur Price.
DAY 1: Pray for the 300+ graduates who have clearly heard the gospel over the past three years, that they would trust in Christ for their salvation and connect to a local church where they can grow in Christ and experience biblical support.
DAY 2: Pray for God to raise up an army of volunteers to join in helping adults move forward in life through work and faith serving as Encouragers, Mock Interviewers, Class Meal Providers, Board and Junior Board members, web and social media supporters, etc.
DAY 3: Pray for the over 80% of graduates who have gained employment and kept a job for over a year, that they will be able to move forward now into a career that provides sustainable wages for them and their families.
DAY 4: Pray for those graduates that are still seeking employment that they will be diligent in their search and not be discouraged. Pray for God to provide additional employers willing to hire graduates from WFB.
DAY 5: Pastor Keith has been leading WFB this past year. Pray for God to provide the resources to hire a full-time Executive Director to lead the ministry to the next level.
DAY 6: Pray for additional partnerships to grow so that those partners can benefit from the successful program.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Termer, Jessica S. Jessica is serving as part of the Brook Hills North Africa Church Planting Team engaging the Arundo people. Arundo is a nickname made up for security reasons for this difficult unreached people group. Jessica was sent out almost three years ago to use her medical degree to help engage the Arundo and share the gospel. Join us as we pray for Jessica and the work the Father is accomplishing through her and our Church Planting team in North Africa.
DAY 1: Working with a scattered people group who live as refugees is a complex thing. There are many barriers to finding and accessing the Arundo community. Pray for the Holy Spirit to continue to open doors and provide access to the Arundo people.
DAY 2: Jessica and her teammates met two new Arundo families this last week. They have been invited back into their homes numerous times and were able to share stories of Christ. They were shocked and clearly had never heard of Christ before. Pray for God to draw these families to himself. Pray for Jessica and the team to clearly communicate the gospel.
DAY 3: Pray for the North Africa Church Planting Team to find Arundo men who are willing to meet with our guys. This is a huge challenge. Pray for God to open the hearts of Arundo men and for them to seek out the male members of our team.
DAY 4: Praise God for providing a work permit for Jessica to stay in country and to be able to confidently use her medical degree and skills to provide access to the Arundo community.
DAY 5: Jessica and the team have been able to test some audio recordings of the Word in the Arundo language. Those that heard were in shock that there were Arundo people speaking about Christ. Pray the Word continues to go forth and that it changes the hearts and lives of those who hear it.
DAY 6: Pray for God to sustain Jessica and provide for everything she needs as she serves the Arundo people. Pray for Jessica to be faithful even when she doesn’t see fruit from her labor.

Hallelujah for the Cross
Verse 1
Up to the hill of Calvary
My Savior went courageously
And there He bled and died for me
Hallelujah for the cross
And on that day the world was changed
A final perfect lamb was slain
Let earth and heaven now proclaim
Hallelujah for the cross
Chorus
Hallelujah for the war He fought
Love has won death has lost
Hallelujah for the souls He bought
Hallelujah for the cross
Verse 2
What good I've done could never save
My debt too great for deeds to pay
But God my Savior made a way
Hallelujah for the cross
A slave to sin my life was bound
But all my chains fell to the ground
When Jesus' blood came flowing down
Hallelujah for the cross
Verse 3
And when I breathe my final breath
I'll have no need to fear that rest
This hope will guide me into death
Hallelujah for the cross
