Scripture Memory
Pray for the Church
Praise God for all of the many volunteers who faithfully and selflessly serve our church each week. Ask God to raise up more volunteers to serve in our age group ministries in a variety of capacitites. Pray especially for God to provide people to serve as buddies in our special needs ministry. Ask God to call out new small group leaders. Pray for our Local Disciple-Making team as they lead, equip, and train all of our volunteers serving these ministries.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Hearts in Hands, Inc. (heartsinhands.org), a local non-profit ministry founded by members of Brook Hills that provides home repair services and wheelchair ramp construction for poor and elderly people in the greater Birmingham area. Hearts in Hands strives to engage the poor with the gospel while meeting their physical needs. We are also praying for Shades Valley Community Church and Pastor Jonathan Haefs.
DAY 1: Pray that Hearts in Hands will remain steadfast in their mission to exalt the name of Jesus Christ in Birmingham.
DAY 2: Pray that God will provide wisdom to the Hearts in Hands leadership team as they seek to fill voids on the board and among the officers.
DAY 3: Pray for word to spread about this ministry so that more people in need can encounter the love of God through the ministry of Hearts in Hands.
DAY 4: Pray that God would send men and women willing to serve with Hearst in Hands through prayer and through discipleship.
DAY 5: Pray that God will provide skilled laborers with handyman experience or the ability to lead projects to serve regularly as volunteers.
DAY 6: Pray for those who are being impacted by the ministry of Hearts in Hands. Pray that God will soften their hearts to the gospel and draw them to Himself.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills field partner Jesse S. and his family serving in India. Jesse is a key partner of ours leading a team of workers who are strategically serving among unengaged unreached people groups. Their goal is to see disciples formed and healthy, multiplying churches established among these people groups. Join us this week as we pray for Jesse, his family, and his team as they serve the peoples of India. We are also praying this week for the Bairagi people in India.
DAY 1: Praise God for raising up new networks of multiplying churches across India. Pray for God to call out more laborers to participate in the work He is doing across India so more people can know of Christ.
DAY 2: Jesse and his team have a training program to equip believers in disciple-making and church planting. Pray for the groups of men currently being trained by Jesse and his team to be faithful and fruitful in planting new churches.
DAY 3: Jesse’s team has a vision of planting 40 networks of multiplying churches. Pray for God’s grace as they work and give their lives for this vision. Pray for God to accomplish what He has laid out for Jesse’s team in a way that only He receives glory.
DAY 4: Pray for the 47 remaining unengaged unreached people groups under Jesse’s leadership who have no access to the gospel. Pray that they would be reached by the gospel and for many to be saved.
DAY 5: Pray for Jesse’s family as they just moved to a new city. Pray for a smooth transition into their new home and as they build relationships and integrate into their community.
DAY 6: There are significant challenges and barriers to the gospel going forward in India. Pray for God to establish and sustain His church in India. Pray for our partnership with Jesse and his team to help further the gospel and make Christ’s name known.
