Pray for the Church
Praise God for His active work in our lives and the world around us. Pray for obedience to follow God’s leading in how He uses us. Ask for the Spirit to clearly guide us in where to go and with whom to meet for gospel conversations. Ask Him to grant us understanding and empower us to share God’s Word with boldness and clarity. Praise God for the joy we find in walking with Him in faith. Pray for God to receive much honor and glory through His faithful work in and through us.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for Oak Tree Ministries, a nonprofit laboring with the people of the Marks Village Public Housing Community in fulfillment of God’s promise to raise up for Himself oak trees of righteousness for the display of his splendor. Oak Tree Ministries seeks to pave the way for people in Marks Village to be reconciled to God and others. We are also praying for Double Oak Community Church and Pastor Adam Robinson.
Day 1: Pray for God to call Christ-followers to labor with Oak Tree Ministries in ministering to the families in the Marks Village Housing Community to bring spiritual healing and restoration.
Day 2: Pray for God to use the summer outreach of Rock the Village the week of June 6th to cause people from Marks Village to want to know the Jesus whom we are celebrating. Ask God to send the 44 volunteers who are needed daily to serve at Rock the Village.
Day 3: Pray for the students and volunteers who gather each Tuesday afternoon for the Oak Tree Reading Club, that a love for reading would be fostered. Ask God to grow the children as disciples of the Word as they become readers of the Word.
Day 4: Pray for the 16 teens who gather each Thursday to hang out, build relationships, and explore how God’s Word directly speaks into their situations. Ask God to build strong bonds of fellowship in this group and equip the OTM staff to ask and answer difficult questions through the Word.
Day 5: Pray God will show Himself mighty in providing funds to complete the renovation of the 8,000 square foot building He gave to Oak Tree Ministries that is located next door to the community. Ask Him to fill the building with His presence and truth that it may be a safe haven for the community.
Day 6: Pray that God will pour out wisdom and discernment on the leadership team of Oak Tree Ministries. Ask God to keep the team ever mindful of His mission for His glory in His time through His strength.
Pray for the World
The Church at Brook Hills is a point church for the new Global Cities Initiative. Specifically, we have been tasked with leading the mobilization of believers to the strategic city of Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur is located in Malaysia and is home to over 8 million people in the metropolitan area. Our desire is to see many Brook Hills professionals, students, and retirees to do what they do well and to do it somewhere strategic for the Kingdom of God. Join us this week as we pray for our church, the city of Kuala Lumpur, and the overall Global Cities Initiative.
Day 1: The desire of the Global Cities Initiative is to open up avenues for professionals, students, and retirees to work, live, and come alongside church planting teams in these cities. Pray that God would begin to stir in the hearts of believers and mobilize many at Brook Hills to join this initiative.
Day 2: Pray for God to make clear the paths for how he wants individuals to go. Pray for job opportunities to open for professionals to be able to work, live, and make disciples in Kuala Lumpur.
Day 3: There are fewer than 100 believers out of the 17 million Malay living in Malaysia. KL is the key to reaching Malaysia. Pray for a movement of God in KL. Pray for the gospel to spread on the wings of trade, commerce, and travel like we see in the book of Acts.
Day 4: The Global Cities Initiative is a pilot program with many unknowns. Pray for bold spirits for every point church, every leader, and every believer to move forward and participate in how God is moving.
Day 5: KL is a city of great religious diversity. There is a part of town where you can see Muslims, Hindus, Taoists, and Animists all worshipping within a few city blocks of each other. Praise God for bringing many unreached people groups into the city. Pray for Christians to share the gospel and for the church to be established in these UPG’s.
Day 6: Pray for the success of the Global Cities Initiative. Pray for the spread of the gospel among the thousands of Unreached People Groups living in cities across the world. Pray for God to mobilize His church to the cities.
How Great Is Your Faithfulness
Chorus
The heavens ring
The saints all sing
Great is Your faithfulness
From age to age we will proclaim
Great is Your faithfulness
How great is Your faithfulness
Verse 1
Now unto the King who reigns over all
And never changes or turns
Unfailing justice unfading grace
Whose promises remain
Yes Your promises remain
Verse 2
Ev'rything changes but You stay the same
Your Word and kingdom endure
We lean on the promise of all that You are
And trust forevermore
We will trust forevermore
Bridge
From generation to generation
You never failed us O God
Yesterday and today and tomorrow
Until the day You return
Now Why This Fear
Verse 1
Now why this fear and unbelief
Has not the Father put to grief
His spotless Son for us
And will the righteous Judge of men
Condemn me for that debt of sin
Now canceled at the cross
Chorus
Jesus all my trust is in Your blood
Jesus You've rescued us
Through Your great love
Verse 2
Complete atonement You have made
And by Your death have fully paid
The debt Your people owed
No wrath remains for us to face
We're sheltered by Your saving grace
And sprinkled with Your blood
Bridge
How sweet the sound of saving grace
How sweet the sound of saving grace
Christ died for me
Verse 3
Be still my soul and know this peace
The merits of your great High Priest
Have bought your liberty
Rely then on His precious blood
Don't fear your banishment from God
Since Jesus sets you free
Take My Life
Verse 1
Take my life and let it be consecrated
Lord to Thee
Take my moments and my days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee
Verse 2
Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my King
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee
Take my silver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect and use
Ev'ry power as You choose
Chorus
Here am I all of me
Take my life it's all for Thee
Verse 3
Take my will and make it Thine
It shall be no longer mine
Take my heart it is Thine own
It shall be Thy royal throne
Take my love my Lord I pour
At Your feet its treasure store
Take myself and I will be
Ever only all for Thee
The Saving One
Verse 1
What mercy was revealed
What selflessness and peace
My fate was surely sealed
Until He rescued me
His pardon for my sin
His bounty for my need
From slavery and shame
I am redeemed
Chorus
And heaven can't contain
The glory of the Son
Jesus is the Christ
The Saving One
His love has made a way
The grave is overcome
Jesus is the Christ
The Saving One
Verse 2
No fear can hold me down
No darkness steal my joy
For blood has been poured out
The enemy destroyed
Death could not hold Him down
The cross was not enough
To steal away His love
For He is God
Bridge
And anyone who calls upon His name
They will be saved
They will be saved
Anyone who calls upon His name
They will be saved
They will be saved
