Praise God for the men He has called out from among us to serve as our elders. Pray for our new elder candidates, and ask God to prepare them for the task before them. Ask God to grant us discernment in our consideration of these new elders. Pray for each of our elders to be strengthened and for God to grow them in their understanding of how to best shepherd our faith family.

This week we are praying for Grace Klein Community, a Christian non-profit ministry partner that works to mobilize the body of Christ to serve and love others through difficult circumstances in Jesus’ name by addressing their urgent physical and spiritual needs. Grace Klein Community seeks to create authentic community by uniting diverse individuals, businesses, ministries, and churches to work together and share what they have in order to meet needs locally and globally. We are also praying for Mountain Brook Community Church and Pastor Tim Kallum.

DAY 1: Grace Klein Community seeks to foster biblical community between their volunteers and the families they serve. As volunteers take food to families each month, pray for the Spirit to continue to strengthen their friendships and provide opportunities for volunteers to share Christ with the families they are serving.

DAY 2: Grace Klein Community now serves multiple families multiple times a week by sharing food from their office. Pray for opportunities for the staff and volunteers to pray with individuals coming to the market, to share the gospel, and to establish lasting relationships. 

DAY 3: Grace Klein Community is continuing to grow and now operates with a staff of three paid employees. Pray for God to continue to strengthen the staff and draw them closer to Him as they serve faithfully and demonstrate the love of Christ daily.

DAY 4: Grace Klein Community encourages both volunteers and recipients to share what they have to meet other’s urgent physical and spiritual needs. Pray for everyone involved with Grace Klein Community to live out Acts 4:32, living in unity with a heart of giving.

DAY 5: Volunteers allow Grace Klein Community to continue to increase the number of families they can serve. Pray for God to continue to provide volunteers to share the gospel and to serve others in Jesus’ name.

DAY 6: Grace Klein Community exists for the spread of Jesus’ glory. Pray for both volunteers and recipients to see the love of Christ for them through His continual provision in and through their lives.

This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Term Missionaries, the Hansen Family, serving in Kenya. Erik Hansen serves as a pediatric surgeon at the Kijabe Hospital outside of Nairobi. He and his wife Amanda raise their four children and minister to other children alongside an organization called BethanyKids. They are also engaging those they meet with the gospel in order to strengthen the local church in Kenya. For more information, follow their blog, Uncommon Road. We are also praying for the Daasanech people of Kenya.

DAY 1: Pray for God to encourage and strengthen the Hansens as they diligently work and live in an area where so many physical needs exist.

DAY 2: Erik leads the Pediatric Surgery Residency program at Kijabe Hospital. Pray for wisdom as he leads the group of residents under his care. Pray for God to raise up new generations of surgeons to care for the Kenyan population.

DAY 3: This year in Kenya, there have been several strikes by the doctors in the country. This has put a strain on Kijabe Hospital and the staff, as they were one of the only hospitals open. Pray for God to provide the resources needed to ensure high quality healthcare to the overwhelming number of patients that visit daily.

DAY 4: Erik and Amanda have many responsibilities with work, ministry, and family. Pray for God to help them maximize the time they have in the day to be good stewards of what He has entrusted to them. Pray for times of rest to restore their souls.

DAY 5: Praise God for the opportunities He has given Erik and Amanda to share the gospel in their work and ministry. Pray for a renewed vision and spirit to what God has called their family to. 

DAY 6: Pray for the Hansen kids as they grow and mature into young men and women. Ask God to provide for their every need and for the faith to trust in Him and see the incredible opportunity they have to be on mission with their parents.
