Pray for the Church
Ask God for wisdom and renewal of our minds so we might discern God's will in our lives. Pray for Him to grow our love for and understanding of His Word. Ask Him to help us guard our hearts. Pray for strength to follow God wherever He might lead us each individually and corporately as a faith family.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Abiding Hearts Home Care, a gospel-centered ministry led by Brook Hills members Randy and Courtney Johnson. Abiding Hearts Home Care provides living assistance, home maintenance, and physical, spiritual, and psychological care to the sick, elderly, and widowed while also providing an avenue for life-on-life discipleship to those in need in our city. They have particularly concentrated on serving those in need in the East Lake area. We are also praying for Urban Hope Community Church and Pastor Alton Hardy.
DAY 1: Pray as God gives us the privilege to serve in life-on-life discipleship while also meeting physical, emotional and practical needs; that widows would be drawn closer to the one true God and find hope in Him that does not disappoint.
DAY 2: Pray for our hearts to reflect Jesus’ heart and thus be filled with deep compassion and a desire to help the widow, and that as others watch and observe Christ reaching out through us to care for the widow that they too would be drawn to Him and be filled with awe and praise.
DAY 3: Pray for the widows’ faith and love to grow towards Christ as they look to Him to be their Defender, Provider, Comforter and Protector.
DAY 4: Pray we would spur on our widows in steadfast faith, perseverance and dependency on God, and for their hearts and minds to be filled with peace as we point them toward the One who is ever Faithful.
DAY 5: Pray as we go out seeking to meet the needs of widows they would truly encounter God and be very much aware it is not us, but God Himself coming to their aid and rescue. Pray for volunteers and resources from God’s People to reflect that truth.
DAY 6: Pray for the Spirit of God to work in us and through us to minister and witness to our widows in their time of distress and need, and for God’s heart to be blessed.
Pray for the World
This week marks the beginning of Ramadan for 1.6 billion Muslims in the world. For the next month, Muslims all over the world will abstain from food, drink, and other pleasures during the day in order to remove their sin and draw closer to Allah. Each of our Brook Hills Church Planting Teams serve among Muslim people groups and many of our members have been sent out and are serving among Muslim peoples. Join us as we intercede on behalf of Muslim men and women around the world. We are also praying for our Short-Term teams serving in Southeast Asia.
DAY 1: Pray for God to soften the hearts of Muslim men and women to the gospel and for Christ to be revealed leading them in the way of truth (John 14:6).
DAY 2: Pray for God to reveal Himself to many Muslims during Ramadan in dreams and visions.
DAY 3: Pray for all of our Brook Hills members working with Muslim people to have boldness, courage, and passion as they proclaim the good news of Christ to their Muslim friends this month.
DAY 4: Pray for more movements of Muslims coming to Christ and churches being planted.
DAY 5: Pray for God to open opportunities for Brook Hills members to be in Muslim homes during Ramadan. Pray for God to provide opportunities for gospel conversations to flourish.
DAY 6: Ramadan allows for a heightened spiritual awareness among Muslims. Pray for God to save those who are seeking Him. Pray for the message of salvation by grace and through faith in Christ alone to be proclaimed to Muslim men and women. Pray for God to receive praise that is due His name among all peoples.
