Pray for the Church
Praise God for revealing to us who Jesus truly is. Thank God for saving us through the work of his Son, the Christ. Pray that we would all be bold in our own confession of who Jesus is. Ask for God’s strength and help as we daily take up our crosses and follow Him.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Brother Bryan Mission (bbmission.com), a residential Christian recovery and work-readiness program ministering to economically, emotionally, and spiritually impoverished men in Birmingham. The goal of Brother Bryan Mission is for each client to return to his family, church and community free from addiction, with stable employment and housing, and with a healthy relationship with God and others. We are also praying for Christ The King Anglican Church and Pastor Lyle Dorsett.
DAY 1: Pray for the spiritual vitality of the men in the residential programs at BBM. “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak” accurately describes the obstacle that these men face in seeking to change their lives. Pray they will each find hope and the power to change in the Gospel of Jesus.
DAY 2: Pray for the dedicated and loving staff members and volunteers who seek to be used by the Lord in the lives of those they serve. Pray they would abide in Christ and be filled with His Spirit as they give of themselves to this ministry.
DAY 3: Pray for God to grant BBM wisdom, sufficient resources, and laborers to respond to the high demand for their programs and services so that all seeking refuge and restoration can be served and none turned away.
DAY 4: Pray for the Lord to send more faithful men to invest in the residents of BBM by mentoring, teaching classes, conducting chapel services, and serving meals. Pray the godly influence of these volunteers might lead BBM residents to the Son of God.
DAY 5: God has provided some wonderful older buildings for BBM. Pray for Him to now provide the workers and funds needed to upgrade these facilities to a more useful condition so that they may be used for His glory.
DAY 6: Praise God for what He has done through the ministry of Brother Bryan Mission and for the many lives that have been touched by the Spirit of God through His Word!
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the seventeen Brook Hills Mid-Termers who we will send out this summer to serve around the world in places like North Africa, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Australia, Europe, West Africa, Central America, and East Asia. Join us this week in praying for those we are sending out. For more information and ways to pray visit the missionary map at brookhills.org/missionaries.
DAY 1: Praise God for continuing to call out individuals and families from Brook Hills to serve Mid-Term. Pray for God to use each of our Mid-Termers to bring him great glory and strengthen the local church around the world.
DAY 2: Carly C., Hannah H., Annie R. and Alison J. will all be serving in the Middle East. Pray for these young women to be filled with the Holy Spirit and for success in their gospel witness (Acts 13:12).
DAY 3: Natalie D. will be serving in North Africa, Ria M. will be serving in Romania, and Macy M. will be serving in Guatemala. Pray that the Gospel would be make clear through each of them as they boldly proclaim the good news of Christ.
DAY 4: Amanda H., Sarah W., Lilly N., and Sydney H. will all be serving in East Asia. Pray for Christ-like humility to characterize them (Acts 14) and for favor among unbelievers (Acts 13:14-15).
DAY 5: Hannah D. is our first Mid-Termer to be sent to Australia. Praise God for opening up this opportunity for her to serve there. Pray for God to use Hannah to strengthen disciples and multiply churches in Australia (Acts 14:21-24).
DAY 6: Pray for those going to serve in South Asia and Southeast Asia. Pray specifically that they would be confidence in God’s word and that God would open the hearts of people around them (Acts 13).
