Scripture Memory
Pray for the Church
Praise God for His love, compassion, and care for us. Thank Him for His goodness, and for His constant guidance and strength. Pray for us to keep our eyes upon the Lord when we go through hard things. Pray as we cast our burdens upon the Lord, and rely on Him in all things, we will share His promises and lead others to accept His grace.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Birmingham Urban Young Life. Young Life is a Christian ministry with a mission to introduce adolescents to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. Urban Young Life serves the students of Restoration Academy, Putnam Middle School, Banks Academy, and Woodlawn High School. We are also praying for Zion Springs Baptist Church and Pastor Adam Mixon.
Day 1: Pray for every student within the influence of Urban Young Life to have the opportunity to meet Christ and grow in their relationship with Him.
Day 2: Pray for Area Director, Sedrick Moore, as he leads the charge to launch a stand-alone Urban Young Life area in East Birmingham.
Day 3: Pray for the 90 middle and high school students going to Young Life camp this summer where they will be introduced to the gospel and invited to follow Jesus Christ.
Day 4: Pray for the Urban Young Life leaders to be filled to the overflow with the love of Jesus so they can continue pouring out into the lives of teens.
Day 5: Pray for the gift of financial sustainability for Birmingham Urban Young Life.
Day 6: Pray for the Lord to send more laborers with a passion for Jesus and for reaching lost urban teenagers so that Urban Young Life can impact more students.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for JD and JJ who lead our church planting team in North Africa and serve among the Arundo* people. The Arundo are a Muslim people group of over 10 million. June marks the month of Ramadan for 1.6 billion Muslims in the world where they will abstain from food, drink, and other pleasures during the day in order to remove their sin and draw close to God. Join us this week as we pray for the Arundo and our team that is serving among them. *Arundo is a pseudonym for a people group changed for security purposes.
Day 1: Pray for God to work in the hearts of Arundo men and women. Ask for Him to raise up people of peace who will accept the true word of God and influence their families and communities for Him.
Day 2: Pray for Arundo men and women to realize good deeds cannot earn the true peace and salvation that can only come through Christ Jesus.
Day 3: Ask for a great harvest among the Arundo both for the glory of His kingdom and for the encouragement of the workers laboring among them.
Day 4: Pray for JD and JJ as they lead our BH team to serve among the Arundo. Pray for favor and opportunities to engage the Arundo community with the gospel.
Day 5: Pray for God to lead our BH workers to Arundo people whose hearts have been made ready for His Word.
Day 6: Pray for God to call and send workers into His harvest among the Arundo people, to provide job opportunities and access for workers and for opportunities for thousands of Arundo to hear the gospel this year.
