Praise God for His faithfulness to us, through both our joys and our struggles. Thank Him for always hearing and answering our prayers. Ask God to grant us strength to persevere through all life’s trials. Thank God for His mercy that allows us the honesty to go to Him with our suffering, and pray for His grace to empower us to suffer well for His glory.

This week we are praying for Serve Week 2017 (July 24-29), a week of service and outreach to the East Lake and Gate City communities. During Serve Week, Brook Hills members and other Christ followers will minister in the inner city through home improvement projects, community and school clean up, Backyard Bible Clubs, Rock the Village, prayer walking, evangelism, corporate worship, feeding the hungry, and Ready Day One at Oliver Elementary School.

DAY 1: Pray for the many residents (adults, teens, & children) who will be impacted in some way by Serve Week. Pray for those who are unbelievers to be open to the gospel and that believers would be encouraged by the love of God displayed by the Body of Christ.

DAY 2: Pray for the volunteers dedicating their week to help meet the urgent needs of inner-city families. Pray they are able to work humbly, safely, and diligently. Pray for supernatural joy and energy to abound throughout the week.

DAY 3: Pray for the impoverished families whose homes are being repaired for free by volunteer work crews this week. Pray for the Lord to continue to show His immense love and provision to them by meeting their daily needs in miraculous ways. Pray they would know their help comes from the Lord, not people.

DAY 4: Pray for “Rock the Village” to be an amazing time of evangelism and outreach to the Marks Village community. Pray for all 500 units of residents to be touched in some way by the good news of Jesus Christ, and for more children to be connected to the weekly Bible Club where they will learn how to be disciples of Jesus.

DAY 5: Pray for rich conversations, conversions, and gospel advancement throughout Serve Week as the gospel is shared and urgent physical needs are met.

DAY 6: Pray for the Oliver families that will attend the Ready Day One event on Saturday. Pray that from the moment they enter the doors until the time they leave, they will be overwhelmed by the love and provision of Christ through His Church. Pray that each guest will be genuinely welcomed, ministered to, and encouraged by the Body of Christ.

This week we are praying for the Global Cities team in Southeast Asia. The Church at Brook Hills currently has two families and two singles living and working in Southeast Asia as part of the Global Cities Initiative. This week a Short-Term team from Brook Hills will be serving at a retreat for the entire team working in Southeast Asia. This retreat is strategic in fostering team integration and unity. Join us as we pray for our faith family members who are part of the GCI and the team they have joined. We are also praying for our Short-Term teams serving in Dearborn, Atlanta, Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

DAY 1: Pray for the team who leaves today from Brook Hills as they travel to Southeast Asia. Pray for traveling mercies and for their hearts to be focused on serving the workers at the retreat. Pray for opportunities to share the gospel as they go.

DAY 2: Pray for the Brook Hills members (Lee and Lara S. and Patrick and Vivian D.) who will be at the retreat. Ask God to knit them together with others on the existing team. Pray for the retreat to be a time of fellowship and getting to know one another on a deeper level.

DAY 3: Pray for Bob Flanders as he teaches and leads the team in God’s Word. Pray for the Spirit to encourage those at the retreat and for the Word to bear fruit in their hearts.

DAY 4: Pray for the Short-Term team that is serving at the retreat to foster an environment where the GCI team can rest, relax, and be encouraged to press on with the work God has called them to. Pray for the Short-Term team as they lead worship and put on a separate camp for the children of the GCI team to follow the Holy Spirit as they serve.

DAY 5: Pray for the families who will be attending this retreat to come away with a renewed sense of calling, to be spurred on to share the gospel boldly, and to work for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.

DAY 6: Pray for God to be honored as groups of people from two cities join together to glorify His name. Pray for God to use this retreat as a catalytic moment to spread His gospel throughout Southeast Asia.
