Pray for the Church
Praise God for all He does for us. Ask God to develop in us a care for others that reflects His own care for us. Pray we will all live confident in God’s forgiveness and in obedience to His will. Pray for God to grow our love for Him and one another.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Biblical Marriage Institute (BMI), a ministry dedicated to seeing biblical marriage restored as the standard for all marriages through marriage education, marriage training, and community awareness. BMI is led by Brook Hills members, Alonza and Vanessa Jones. Visit biblicalmarriageinstitute.org, to find out more. We are also praying for Gardendale First Baptist Church, and Pastor Kevin Hamm.
DAY 1: Pray for God’s wisdom and grace as Alonza and Vanessa teach marriage classes for teenagers at two inner city Christian schools this fall.
DAY 2: Pray for students as they learn biblical truths that will help them in their relationships and marriages in the future. Pray for those who have surrendered their lives to Christ while taking this class and for God to save many more through this ministry.
DAY 3: Pray for several new initiatives that will impact unwed couples as well as seminary students who are preparing for family ministry.
DAY 4: Pray for continued wisdom for the board and staff as they lead BMI in its efforts to fix marriages before they break and save marriages before they start.
DAY 5: Pray for BMI’s upcoming Benefit Banquet on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Brook Hills Student Center. This event is relied on each year for more than 25% of BMI’s annual budget.
DAY 6: Pray that God will raise up married couples who will commit to being trained to mentor less experienced couples through BMI’s mentor training course.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Term Missionaries, Steve and Daria Mayotte, serving in South Africa. Steve and Daria serve incarcerated juveniles at Pollsmoor Prison in Cape Town, South Africa. There, they work with Hope Prison Ministry providing support to prison inmates, communities, and the Department of Correctional Services through bible-based disciple-making programs. Join us as we pray for Steve, Daria, and their three boys Ethan, Jude, and Zane. To learn more about the Mayottes visit steveanddaria.com. We are also praying for our Short-Term teams serving in Atlanta, Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
DAY 1: Pray for Steve as he interacts and mentors the inmates at Pollsmoor prison. Pray for God to give him wisdom as he leads and shepherds these boys in God’s Word.
DAY 2: The Mayottes have enjoyed meeting some new people at Pollsmoor prison. Pray for continued open doors as they seek to share the gospel and navigate new areas.
DAY 3: Praise God for the favor he has given the Mayottes in Pollsmoor prison. Pray for leadership to see that Christ truly is transforming the lives of the inmates and that the program Steve and Daria lead is making a difference.
DAY 4: Pray for God to strengthen and encourage Steve and Daria as they parent their three boys, love one another, and serve at Pollsmoor Prison.
DAY 5: Pray that the Mayottes would abide more fully in Christ, take advantage of opportunities to share the gospel, and become more intentional with those who are seeking.
DAY 6: Pray for the young men who are inmates at Pollsmoor Prison. Pray for God to soften their hearts towards Christ and forntheir salvation.

Rejoice
Verse 1
Come and stand before your maker
Full of wonder full of fear
Come behold his power and glory
Yet with confidence draw near
For the one who holds the heavens
And commands the stars above
Is the God who bends to bless us
With an unrelenting love
Chorus
Rejoice
Come and lift your hands and raise your voice
He is worthy of all praise
Rejoice
Sing the mercies of your king
And with trembling rejoice
Verse 2
We are children of the promise
The beloved of the Lord
Won with everlasting kindness
Bought with sacrificial blood
Bringing reconciliation
To a world that longs to know
The affections of a father
Who will never let them go
Verse 3
All our sickness all our sorrows
Jesus carried up the hill
He has walked this path before us
He is walking with us still
Turning tragedy to triumph
Turning agony to praise
There is blessing in the battle
So take heart and stand amazed
Chorus
Rejoice
When you cry to him he hears your voice
He will wipe away your tears
Rejoice
In the midst of suffering
He will help you sing
Great Are You Lord
Verse 1
You give life You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope You restore ev'ry heart that is broken
And great are You Lord
Chorus
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only
Bridge
And all the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry these bones will sing
Great are You Lord
(REPEAT)
Worthy of Your Name
Worthy Of Your Name
Verse 1
Rumors of the Son of Man
Stories of a Savior
Holiness with human hands
Treasure for the traitor
No ear has heard no eye has seen
The image of the Father
Until heaven came to live with me
A rescue like no other
Chorus 1
(Yes) You are worthy
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy yes You are
You are worthy of Your name Jesus
Verse 2
You did not speak You made no sound
You died for Your accusers
And as Your blood fell to the ground
You redefined my future
Yeah on the day that You arose
The darkness ran for cover
For the King of kings has claimed His throne
Now until forever
Bridge
You're my author my maker my ransom my Savior
My refuge my hiding place
You're my helper my healer my blessed Redeemer
My answer my saving grace
You're my hope in the shadows
My strength in the battle
My anchor for all my days
And You stand by my side and You stood in my place
Jesus no other name
Only Jesus no other name
Chorus 2
You are worthy
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy yeah
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy yes You are
You are worthy of Your name Jesus
Holy Holy Holy
Verse 1
Holy holy holy
Lord God Almighty
Early in the morning
Our song shall rise to Thee
Holy holy holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons
Blessed Trinity
Verse 2
Holy holy holy
All the saints adore Thee
Casting down their golden crowns
Around the glassy sea
Cherubim and seraphim
Falling down before Thee
Who was and is
And evermore shall be
Verse 3
Holy holy holy
Though the darkness hide Thee
Though the eye of sinful man
Thy glory may not see
Only Thou art holy
There is none beside Thee
Perfect in power
In love and purity
Verse 4
Holy holy holy
Lord God Almighty
All Thy works shall praise Thy name
In earth and sky and sea
Holy holy holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons
Blessed Trinity
His Mercy is More
Verse 1
What love could remember no wrongs we have done
Omniscient all knowing He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 2
What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father so tender is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest the vilest the poor
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 3
What riches of kindness He lavished on us
His blood was the payment His life was the cost
We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Chorus
Praise the Lord His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness new every morn
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
