Scripture Memory
Pray for the Church
Praise God for our small groups and age-group ministries and the way they help us all to grow in our faith in Christ. Pray for our Preschool Ministry as they partner with parents to help introduce children to the truth of God’s Word. Ask God to use our Children’s Ministry to continue to develop faith in kids during the most formative years of their lives. Pray for our Student Ministry as they lead our teenagers to live out their faith in an increasingly hostile world. Ask God to bless our Small Group Leaders as they lead us all to love Jesus, grow in Jesus, and make disciples of Jesus together in biblical community
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Awaken (awakenrecovery.com), a gospel-based recovery ministry dedicated to helping individuals and ministries navigate through the painful waters caused by sexual brokenness and addiction. Founded by Greg and Stacey Oliver, one of the specific desires of Awaken is to establish relationships with local churches to help them better understand and respond to these issues within their local church. We are also praying for Mountaintop Community Church and Pastor Doug Ferguson.
DAY 1: Praise God for increasing the reach of Awaken Recovery support groups. In addition to the groups meeting at Brook Hills, Awaken now offers groups for men and women at Mountaintop Community Church.
DAY 2: Pray for upcoming men’s and women’s intensive therapeutic retreats in October, that God will move in the hearts and minds of those who will attend and bring healing and recovery.
DAY 3: Pray for God to provide more opportunities to share the message of addiction with pastors, ministry leaders, and educational institutions; and for those who hear the message of gospel-driven recovery to allow this framework to change how they minister to sexually broken people.
DAY 4: Pray for wisdom and effectiveness as Greg balances his roles as Director of Awaken and Care & Recovery Pastor at Mountaintop.
DAY 5: Pray for God’s continued financial and material provision for Awaken, and that they will steward what He provides wisely and generously.
DAY 6: Pray for Stacey and Greg as they work very closely in coaching relationships with women, men, and couples. Pray for Stacey and Greg to be able to find a healthy balance between ministry and family as the ministry continues to grow.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Term Missionaries Josh and Monika K. serving in North Africa. Josh and Monika were sent out eight months ago to join a team that is working to strengthen local pastors and believers in a city of unreached people groups. They are currently immersed in language study and building relationships with others. Join us as we pray for Josh and Monika.
DAY 1: Josh and Monika are getting settled into their new city and the Lord has been faithful to provide friendships for their family. Pray for God to help Josh and Monika to feel more at home in their city and to deepen their friendships that He has provided for them.
DAY 2: Josh and Monika are both in language training. Praise God, Josh has been progressing very well in his language learning and is enjoying learning Arabic. Monika will begin a new school this month that will provide stability in her schedule. Pray for Monika during this transition and for her to thrive in this learning environment.
DAY 3: Josh has been working on a business platform that their team is developing in their city. Pray for God to provide what they need as they move forward with the details of starting a business.
DAY 4: Josh’s grandfather passed away this last week. Pray for God to provide comfort and peace as Josh and Monika are away from their family during this time.
DAY 5: Pray for God to continue to provide new connections and relationships with those who do not know Christ. Pray for God to give encounters with people of peace so the gospel can spread through communities who need to know Christ.
DAY 6: Pray for God to strengthen Josh and Monika’s family as they raise their daughter and love one another. Pray for God to use them to make His name known in their city.
