Pray for the Church
Praise God for His grace in bringing Chip, Rebecca, Emma, Owen, Ben, and Simeon Bugnar to Brook Hills. Ask God to give Chip wisdom and guidance to best shepherd our faith family as our Global Pastor in our gospel efforts around the world. Pray for all of the Bugnars as they establish their new home and meet and make new friends. Pray for God to receive great glory through our global ministry both now and in the days ahead.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for our English as a Second Language Ministry (ESL). The Brook Hills ESL Ministry aims to meet an essential need for English learners while providing a strategic avenue for God’s character to be displayed and His gospel declared to internationals living in our city. To learn how you can serve internationals through our ESL Ministry, visit brookhills.org/serveESL. We are also praying for Birmingham Chinese Christian Church and Pastor Steve Yang.
DAY 1: Thank God for the rich diversity of cultures, nationalities, and languages that He has brought to our ESL program! Pray that He would bring more students from unreached people groups to our classes this year, which begin on September 13.
DAY 2: Pray for every student who enters our ESL program to be given the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel of Christ through authentic, meaningful relationships with their teachers and other volunteers.
DAY 3: Pray for every volunteer to be passionate for ministry and effective in their roles as they serve to the glory of God. Pray for the ESL leadership team to be yielded to the Holy Spirit at every turn.
DAY 4: Pray for the international kids participating in the ESL Children and Preschool program. Pray they will grow both academically and spiritually as we provide educational support through biblical content.
DAY 5: Pray for our students to retain what they learn and for God to grant them favor to learn English quickly.
DAY 6: Ask for God’s blessing as we seek to make disciples of all nations through the ESL Ministry. Pray for the gospel to speed ahead and be honored among our students!
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for one of the largest unreached and unengaged people groups in Turkey called the Zaza people. There are close to 3 million Zaza living in Turkey, and less than 2% are evangelical Christians. Portions of the Zaza community have been engaged with the gospel, but the majority of the population is still unengaged by workers. Join us this week as we pray for the Zaza people.
DAY 1: Pray for the Holy Spirit to open Zaza hearts to see their depravity so they may understand their need for a Savior.
DAY 2: The Zaza are split into two categories, the Northern Zaza and the Southern Zaza, each with it’s own distinct language. Pray for God to awaken the hearts of Zaza men and women to the truth of the gospel.
DAY 3: The primary religion of the Southern Zaza is Sunni Islam. There are only a handful of known believers among them. Pray for the team of workers who are actively engaging Southern Zaza people with the gospel and training the believers to do the same. Pray for God to save those who are hearing.
DAY 4: There are a few Southern Zaza men who have believed and who face regular persecution. Pray for our brothers who are faithfully living out and sharing the gospel. Pray for God to sustain them and provide for their every need. Pray for God to use our brothers to establish His church among the Zaza.
DAY 5: There are 1.5 million Northern Zaza people who are primarily Shia Muslims, but there is a small group of believers among them who need discipleship and maturing. Pray for these believers to read God’s Word and grow in their faith. Pray that God’s love would overcome their fear of sharing the gospel.
DAY 6: The Zaza people live in isolated areas of Eastern Turkey, making them not only spiritually but physically one of the most unreached people groups in the world. Pray for an awakening to God to happen among the Zaza peoples. Pray for more workers to go and work among the Zaza.

Sound of Adoration
Verse 1
When we were lost ones
You were the Shepherd that carried us home
When we were prodigals
You ran to meet us with open arms
And we can't hold back our praise
Verse 2
When we were refugees
You were the One who took us in
When we were enemies
You paid the price for all our sin
And we can't hold back our praise
Chorus
This is the sound of adoration
Oh how we love You
Jesus we love You
You are the joy of all creation
Oh we love You
Jesus we love You
Verse 3
You are the Risen One
You conquered death and made a way
You sang our freedom song
Now we are dancing on our chains
And we can't hold back our praise
Bridge
By the cross I am free
Your grace changes ev'rything
I was blind now I see
Your grace changes ev'rything
The Passion
Verse 1
The passion of our Saviour
The mercy of our God
The cross that leaves no question
Of the measure of His love
Chorus
Our chains are gone
Our debt is paid
The cross has overthrown the grave
For Jesus' blood that sets us free
Means death to death and life for me
Verse 2
The Innocent judged guilty
While the guilty one walks free
Death would be His portion
And our portion liberty
Bridge
I give my whole life to honour this love
By the Lamb who was slain I'm forgiven
The sinner's Saviour crown Him forever
For the Lamb who was slain He is risen
TAG
Means death to death and life for me
Great Are You Lord
Verse 1
You give life You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope You restore ev'ry heart that is broken
And great are You Lord
Chorus
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise
We pour out our praise
It's Your breath in our lungs
So we pour out our praise to You only
Bridge
And all the earth will shout Your praise
Our hearts will cry these bones will sing
Great are You Lord
(REPEAT)
Beneath the Waters (I Will Rise)
Verse 1
This is my revelation
Christ Jesus crucified
Salvation through repentance
At the cross on which He died
Verse 2
Now here my absolution
Forgiveness for my sin
And I sink beneath the waters
That Christ was buried in
Chorus 1
I will rise
I will rise
As Christ was raised to life
Now in Him
Now in Him I live
Verse 3
I stand a new creation
Baptised in blood and fire
No fear of condemnation
By faith I'm justified
Bridge
I rise as You are risen
Declare Your rule and reign
My life confess Your Lordship
And glorify Your Name
Your word it stands eternal
Your kingdom knows no end
Your praise goes on forever
And on and on again
No pow'r can stand against You
No curse assault Your throne
No one can steal Your glory
For it is Yours alone
I stand to sing Your praises
I stand to testify
For I was dead in my sin
Chorus 2
But now I rise
I will rise
As Christ was raised to life
Now in Him
Now in Him I live
Not in Me
No list of sins I have not done
No list of virtues I pursue
No list of those I am not like
Can earn myself a place with you
O God! Be merciful to me
I am a sinner through and through
My only hope of righteousness
Is not in me, but only You
No humble dress, no fervent prayer
No lifted hands, no tearful song
No recitation of the truth
Can justify a single wrong
My righteousness is Jesus' life
My debt was paid by Jesus' death
My weary load was borne by Him
And He alone can give me rest
No separation from the world
No work I do, no gift I give
Can cleanse my conscience, cleanse my hands
I cannot cause my soul to live
But Jesus died and rose again
The power of death is overthrown
My God is merciful to me
And merciful in Christ alone
My righteousness is Jesus' life
My debt was paid by Jesus' death
My weary load was borne by Him
And He alone can give me rest
And He alone can give me rest
