Praise God for the gift of His Spirit in all of us who believe. Ask the Holy Spirit to empower us for ministry and to boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for God to be glorified through the work the Holy Spirit accomplishes in us and through us.

This week we are praying for Blanket Fort Hope, a Christian ministry in the Birmingham area working in partnership with Alabama DHR to care for child survivors of trafficking. They seek to be a fortress of safety by providing love and care through education and prevention, housing, legal services, and a long-term commitment to forging a path of purpose and hope for these children. We’re also praying this week for Calera Baptist Church and Pastor Jason Jarvis.

Day 1: Pray for the children, traffickers, and “Johns.” Pray for the children currently being trafficked throughout the United States to be protected, rescued, restored, and to come to know Jesus, who can make all things new. Pray for the traffickers and the “Johns” to come to know the Lord and repent. 

Day 2: Praise God for the abundant favor He has shown Blanket Fort Hope in their work with Alabama DHR and other important officials. Pray for the Lord to continue to show favor to BFH and to continue to make clear the path as they work to help restore victims of child trafficking.

Day 3: Pray for the Blanket Fort Hope Crisis Center. Blanket Fort Hope is currently completing its final request for funding and licensing. Pray for God’s grace and provision over this four- to six-month process that will coincide with the construction of the center.

Day 4: Pray for financial provision for Blanket Fort Hope. Pray for the “Hold the Fort” 5K/10K happening on September 17 and the Restoring Hope Gala on February 23, 2023. Pray for God to send generous donors to participate and sponsor both events. Pray for continual generosity through regular giving for the sustainment of the Crisis Center.

Day 5: Pray for the Executive Director, Alexa, and her health and healing as she undergoes several important medical procedures this month. Pray for Brook Hills member, Phaedra Galloway, as she settles into her new role as Project Manager for Blanket Fort Hope. 

Day 6: Pray for the Blanket Fort Hope staff, board members, and volunteers. Pray they would do the work God has set out for them with wisdom, grace, joy, and gratitude. Pray against all spiritual warfare for them and their families.

This week, we are praying specifically for a language center in North Africa. Brook Hills has sent out three Long-Termers to work with this language center, Kristi K. and Josh and Monika K. The director of the center opened its doors in 2015. It began as a school for teaching Arabic to foreigners and was established as a for-profit business. This has allowed the owners to have a residence visa as well as opportunities for deeper relationships through everyday work. The English program was started in 2019. 

Day 1: Pray for the staff of the language center. Pray for the 12 local staff members and ask the Father to provide opportunities for the team to invest well in them, both in regard to workplace issues, but also regarding spiritual things. A majority of the staff are Muslim.

Day 2: Pray for their team. Everyone is back in the country as of this week. Pray for them to walk together in unity, love, and grace as they serve together. Pray for them to keep their eyes on the Father and the main purpose in being there. 

Day 3: Pray for growth in their English program. Pray for more students to come, especially as they hope to offer several new classes in the coming months. Pray for relationships to develop and gospel conversations to happen as they connect with students outside the classroom. 

Day 4: Ask the Father to send more Arabic students to the school, because this is what helps keep them afloat financially. Pray for Him to sustain the team financially in these lean months.

Day 5: Ask the Father to provide wisdom, resources, and a location as they look to move to a new office space next year. Pray for God to show them the place He has already prepared for them. Pray for this business and ministry to be a blessing to the community. 

Day 6: Pray for their team that is meeting together weekly in hopes of forming a church. Pray for the Father to guide them and that they will walk in humility as they seek to form a healthy church.
