Pray for the Church
Praise God for the partnership He grants us in our gospel mission together. Ask Him to help us guard our doctrine and to grow in our understanding of the truth contained in His Word. Pray for God to continue to develop within our church a gospel-saturated culture centered around the mission to which He has called us. Ask God to grow our love for Him, for one another, and for all those we encounter, and pray He would receive much glory through our ministry efforts here and around the world.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Engage24, an evangelism movement taking place on college campuses across the nation during the month of October. Engage24 Birmingham is intensely focused on a 24-day period of evangelism, October 1-24, where every Christian student is challenged to share the gospel with at least one person. However, the overall mission is to promote a 24/7 lifestyle of evangelism and engagement with the gospel year-round. We are also praying for Iron City Church and Pastor Kam Pugh.
DAY 1: Pray the 11 churches and campus ministries involved in Engage24 Birmingham will send many laborers into the harvest of UAB and other college campuses and their intentionality in sharing the gospel will bear much fruit.
DAY 2: Pray for those involved with Engage24 Birmingham to develop a deep and genuine burden for the lost and to make engaging them on their campuses and to the ends of the earth a lifelong practice and priority.
DAY 3: Pray for our college students to have a growing and abiding love for God and others as well as a growing desire to be obedient to the clear command to make disciples of all nations.
DAY 4: Pray for our college students to have a growing desire to know God through His Word and Spirit and to make Him known as a committed part of the Church living out the Great Commission.
DAY 5: Pray many students would come to a saving knowledge of Christ on the five college campuses in the Birmingham area.
DAY 6: Pray for Christian college students to plant their roots as active members of local churches wherever they are attending school.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our Brook Hills field partners, Greg and Beth B., serving in North Africa. Greg and Beth serve as our primary partners in mobilizing medical professionals from Brook Hills to serve in clinics throughout their city. These clinics provide opportunities for local believers to reach out to their Muslim neighbors with care and the gospel. Join us as we pray for our partners and for the work that God will accomplish this year through our short-term teams as they serve together.
DAY 1: Greg and Beth are very busy with family, friends, and ministry. Pray for God to sustain them and to give times of rest. Pray for God to continue to make their work effective as they serve their community.
DAY 2: Pray for the Brook Hills medical teams who will be serving with Greg and Beth this year. Pray for God to use our teams to encourage the local believers they will be serving with.
DAY 3: Pray for the local believers and churches that host the medical clinics. Pray for God to make them bold as they share the gospel with their community that can often times be resistant to the good news.
DAY 4: Pray for Greg as he seeks out new locations to host medical clinics. Pray for God to provide local churches who are willing to partner and open their doors to this type of partnership.
DAY 5: Pray for God to open the hearts and minds of the Muslim patients who will come into the medical clinics. Pray for many to believe.
DAY 6: Praise God for the people He has healed physically and spiritually through these medical clinics. Pray for more to believe and for the church to multiply throughout the city.

The Lion and the Lamb
Verse 1
He's coming on the clouds
Kings and kingdoms will bow down
And every chain will break
As broken hearts declare His praise
For who can stop the Lord almighty
Chorus
Our God is the Lion
The Lion of Judah
He's roaring with power
And fighting our battles
And every knee will bow before Him
Our God is the Lamb
The Lamb that was slain
For the sin of the world
His blood breaks the chains
And every knee will bow before the Lion and the Lamb
Oh every knee will bow before the Lion and the Lamb
Verse 2
So open up the gates
Make way before the King of kings
Our God who comes to save
Is here to set the captives free
For who can stop the Lord almighty
Bridge
Who can stop the Lord almighty
Who can stop the Lord (almighty)
Who You Say I Am

Yes I am
Verse 2
Free at last
He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me
Chorus 2
In my Father's house
There's a place for me
I'm a child of God
Yes I am
Bridge
I am chosen not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me not against me
I am who You say I am
TAG
(Oh) (Yes) I am who You say I am
O Praise the Name

I cast my mind to Calvary
Where Jesus bled and died for me
I see His wounds His hands His feet
My Savior on that cursed tree
Verse 2
His body bound and drenched in tears
They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone
Messiah still and all alone
Chorus
O praise the Name of the Lord our God
O praise His Name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
O Lord O Lord our God
Verse 3
Then on the third at break of dawn
The Son of heaven rose again
O trampled death where is your sting
The angels roar for Christ the King
Verse 4
He shall return in robes of white
The blazing sun shall pierce the night
And I will rise among the saints
My gaze transfixed on Jesus' face
Nothing But the Blood

What can wash away my sin

Nothing but the blood of Jesus

That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Verse 2
For my pardon this I see
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
For my cleansing this my plea
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Nothing can for sin atone
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Naught of good that I have done
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Verse 4
This is all my hope and peace
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
This is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
There is a Fountain
Verse 1
There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Immanuel's veins
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains
Verse 2
The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day
And there have I though vile as he
Washed all my sins away
Washed all my sins away
Washed all my sins away
And there have I though vile as he
Washed all my sins away
Verse 3
Dear dying Lamb Thy precious blood
Shall never lose its pow'r
Till all the ransomed Church of God
Be saved to sin no more
Be saved to sin no more
Be saved to sin no more
Till all the ransomed Church of God
Be saved to sin no more
Verse 4
E'er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply
Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be till I die
And shall be till I die
And shall be till I die
Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be till I die
Verse 5
When this poor lisping stamm'ring tongue
Lies silent in the grave
Then in a nobler sweeter song
I'll sing Thy pow'r to save
I'll sing Thy pow'r to save
I'll sing Thy pow'r to save
Then in a nobler sweeter song
I'll sing Thy pow'r to save
