Pray for the Church
Praise God for the example of humility we have in Christ. Ask God to unite us together in love, spirit, and purpose. Pray for God to develop selflessness within each of us and to help us learn to care well for one another and others by following His example.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the Greater Birmingham Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and Brook Hills member Theresa Chamblee, who is the FCA Area Representative serving middle school and high school female athletes and coaches. The Greater Birmingham FCA aims to lead every coach and athlete in Jefferson and Shelby Counties into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church by engaging, equipping, and empowering coaches and athletes on their campus, in their communities, and through sports camps. We are also praying for Gardendale First Baptist Church and Pastor Kevin Hamm.
DAY 1: Pray for the city-wide FCA Event on November 15 at the Hoover Met with special guest, Tim Tebow. Pray that many in attendance will hear and believe the gospel and be saved.
DAY 2: Pray for the financial resources needed to hire another part-time and full-time Area Representative to serve the greater Birmingham area schools.
DAY 3: Pray for the upcoming FCA Team Camps in October and the participating schools—Huffman, Ramsay, Thompson, and Cornerstone. Pray that the athletes and coaches in attendance will be open, challenged, and transformed.
DAY 4: Pray for God to make the student athlete leaders throughout the Birmingham area faithful and fruitful as they labor among their teammates and coaches.
DAY 5: Pray for Christian coaches around the city to use their coaching platform to display and declare the love of Christ to the athletes under their leadership.
DAY 6: Pray for the students who come to faith through FCA to become active members of a local church and to continue to mature in Christ.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills partner Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) in Great Britain. FIEC is a family of over 500 local churches who are united by the gospel. FIEC exists to encourage and equip these local churches to thrive so they can impact their nation and the world with the good news of Christ. Brook Hills partners to help promote the revitalization of evangelical churches in their network. Join us this week as we host our partners in Birmingham and pray for their work in Great Britain.
DAY 1: Praise God for FIEC and the work the Lord has given them in Great Britain. Pray for God to continue to give wisdom to their leaders and a clear vision for the future.
DAY 2: There are many churches in Great Britain that are on the brink of closing their doors forever. Pray for a movement of the gospel throughout Great Britain. Pray many will hear of Christ, disciples will be made, and churches will be strengthened and established throughout the nation.
DAY 3: Pray for Phil Walter, who leads the Church Revitalization program. Pray for God to give him wisdom and discernment as he leads pastors and their congregations to evaluate how God wants to strengthen their fellowship.
DAY 4: Pray for the churches that are part of the Revitalization process. This is not an easy process, and often times it is difficult to acknowledge the weaknesses that need to be strengthened in order to be a healthy, multiplying congregation. Pray for God to strengthen these local churches so ultimately the gospel can spread.
DAY 5: Pray for local pastors in Great Britain who are part of the FIEC network. Pray for the preaching of God’s Word to take place. Pray for local pastors to be obedient to lead their members to make disciples.
DAY 6: Pray for God to be glorified throughout Great Britain and for the church to respond in obedience to repentance and faith in Christ Jesus.

Sound of Adoration
Verse 1
When we were lost ones
You were the Shepherd that carried us home
When we were prodigals
You ran to meet us with open arms
And we can't hold back our praise
Verse 2
When we were refugees
You were the One who took us in
When we were enemies
You paid the price for all our sin
And we can't hold back our praise
Chorus
This is the sound of adoration
Oh how we love You
Jesus we love You
You are the joy of all creation
Oh we love You
Jesus we love You
Verse 3
You are the Risen One
You conquered death and made a way
You sang our freedom song
Now we are dancing on our chains
And we can't hold back our praise
Bridge
By the cross I am free
Your grace changes ev'rything
I was blind now I see
Your grace changes ev'rything
Death Was Arrested
Verse 1
Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin
Lost without hope with no place to begin
Your love made a way to let mercy come in
When death was arrested and my life began
Verse 2
Ash was redeemed only beauty remains
My orphan heart was given a name
My mourning grew quiet my feet rose to dance
When death was arrested and my life began
Chorus 1
Oh Your grace so free washes over me
You have made me new now life begins with You
Verse 3
Released from my chains I'm a prisoner no more
My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore
He cancelled my debt and He called me His friend Oh
When death was arrested and my life began
Chorus 2
Oh Your grace so free washes over me
You have made me new now life begins with You
It's Your endless love pouring down on us
You have made us new now life begins with You
Oh yes it does
Verse 4
Our Savior displayed on a criminal's cross
Darkness rejoiced as though Heaven had lost
But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand
That's when death was arrested and my life began
That's when death was arrested and my life began
Bridge
Oh we're free free forever we're free
Come join the song of all the redeemed
Yes we're free free forever amen
When death was arrested and my life began
Ending
When death was arrested and my life began
That's when death was arrested and my life began
Blood Bought
When the voice of condemnation, with the record of my wrong
Whispers I am guilty of stains already gone
I will silence my accuser, full of confidence
Knowing I am safe, secure in the truth of this
I am blood bought, by His cross clean
With a brand new name and His life in me
What a wondrous grace, I am only seen
Fully blood bought, by His cross clean
Give me faith to see that moment, the darkness of that day
My sin upon His shoulders, the Savior in my place
Oh the glory of redemption, the Lamb was slain for me
Pardoned now forever, in that healing stream
Forgiven forever
Oh my grateful heart must sing
Forgiven forever
Oh my song will ever be
Jesus Son of God
Verse 1
You came down from Heaven's throne
This earth You formed was not Your home
A love like this the world had never known
A crown of thorns to mock Your name
Forgiveness fell upon Your face
A love like this the world had never known
Chorus
On the altar of our praise
Let there be no higher name
Jesus Son of God
You laid down Your perfect life
You are the sacrifice
Jesus Son of God
You are Jesus Son of God
Verse 2
You took our sin You bore our shame
You rose to life You defeated the grave
And a love like this the world has never known
'Cause You took our sin You bore our shame
You rose to life You defeated the grave
A love like this the world has never known
Bridge
Be lifted higher than all You've overcome
Your name be louder than any other song
There is no power that can come against Your love
The cross was enough
The cross was enough
Come Thou Fount
Verse 1
Come, Thou Fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the name! I’m fixed upon it
Name of Thy redeeming love
Verse 2
Hitherto Thy love has blessed me
Thou hast brought me to this place
And I know Thy hand will bring me
Safely home by Thy good grace
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He, to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood
Verse 3
Oh to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here’s my heart, oh take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above
Verse 4
Oh that day when freed from sinning
I shall see Thy lovely face
Full arrayed in blood-washed linen
How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace
Come, my Lord, no longer tarry
Bring Thy promises to pass
For I know Thy pow’r will keep me
Till I’m home with Thee at last
