Pray for the Church
Praise God for all His many attributes and complete and perfect holiness. Pray we will all seek God in times of trouble and concern and nd comfort and peace in Him rather than fear in this world. Pray we will trust God’s answers to our prayers and readily submit to His Will and purposes. Thank God for His merciful forgiveness and gracious salvation. Pray will develop greater reverence for God in response to who He is and all He has done. Praise God for His goodness and for granting so much good to us.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the Brook Hills Hispanic Congregation, and Pastor Eduardo Torres, as they move back on our campus today for their Sunday Worship Gatherings and as their children join our age groups ministries for Small Groups.
DAY 1: Pray for our Hispanic Congregation members as they become more integrated into our Faith Family by joining us back at Brook Hills’ campus. Pray their members would sense the genuine love and hospitality from others on our campus as we reconnect as brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray our unity would be a powerful display of the gospel at work.
DAY 2: Pray for the Hispanic Ministry worship gatherings at 11:00am in Modular 17 in Spanish each week that Christ would be glori ed though their gatherings together, that members would quickly adjust to their new surroundings, and that others would come and join them in exalting Christ together in Spanish.
DAY 3: Pray that the children and students joining us in English speaking small groups would easily make new friends and adjust to their new teachers and surroundings. Pray they would grow in their relationship with Christ and in their involvement in making disciples.
DAY 4: Pray for our Hispanic Congregation as they seek to declare and display the gospel together among other Hispanics in the Birmingham area and among their neighbors and classmates. Pray for God to grant them much grace and fruit as they continue to reach out to the Mixteco people group, an unreached people group living in Alabama and Mexico.
DAY 5: Pray for Pastor Eduardo Torres and Abner Aguilar, our Hispanic Pastoral Assistant, as they provide overall leadership for the ministry. Pray they will have wisdom, skill, knowledge, and discernment as they depend upon the Holy Spirit to lead through them.
DAY 6: Pray for our Hispanic Congregation Small Group leaders as they reach and disciple others across the city in their homes and on our campus. Pray they will be effective as they seek to evangelize, disciple, and multiply the gospel through those in their groups.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our Brook Hills Member Organization Lifeline UnAdopted. The Church at Brook Hills speci cally partners with UnAdopted in Liberia giving orphans from a network of seventeen different orphanages an opportunity to participate in the REAP camp. The REAP camp was created to have a gospel-centered life skills camp for vulnerable youth and young adults. Camp participants receive career guidance, hands on learning opportunities, and biblical teaching that prepare them for the transition from life in an orphanage to life on their own where they must provide for themselves. Through the camps, older orphans are given the opportunity to hear the gospel, learn life skills, develop career awareness, and receive education that will sustain them and offer a healthy transition into productive adulthood. For more information about Lifeline UnAdopted visit unadopted.org.
DAY 1: Destiny Newon leads the REAP camp for life skills training. Pray for God to sustain Destiny and give him wisdom as he leads in the church, at the REAP camp, and in his family.
DAY 2: Thank God for the students who will attend the REAP camp this year. Pray for God to open their hearts to the gospel so they can be saved.
DAY 3: One of UnAdopted’s goal at the camp is to equip students with skills needed to transition into productive adulthood. Pray for camp attendees to be eager to learn, persistent to grow in knowledge, and disciplined to persevere as they re ne the skills they have learned.
DAY 4: The Liberian church is strong and growing. Pray for the church to persevere by God’s grace and be obedient to serve their neighbor and share the gospel with those without hope of Christ.
DAY 5: Liberia has suffered greatly with generations of war, famine, and poverty. As a result there are many orphans living in Liberia. Pray for the orphanage leaders as they care for and raise the children God has entrusted to them. Pray for REAP to be a blessing to these caregivers as they see students grow and develop.
DAY 6: Pray for the leadership at Lifeline UnAdopted, Destiny, and the REAP camp staff to rely on the Holy Spirit’s guidance as they lead.
This Is Amazing Grace

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory the King above all kings

That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You laid down Your life

Who brings our chaos back into order
Who makes the orphan a son and daughter

Let there be no higher name
Jesus Son of God
You laid down Your perfect life

I cast my mind to Calvary
Where Jesus bled and died for me

My Savior on that cursed tree

His body bound and drenched in tears
They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone
Messiah still and all alone

O Lord O Lord our God

Then on the third at break of dawn
The Son of heaven rose again
O trampled death where is your sting
The angels roar for Christ the King

He shall return in robes of white
The blazing sun shall pierce the night
And I will rise among the saints
My gaze transfixed on Jesus' face
