Pray for the Church
Praise God for the faith family and biblical community He has provided for us here with The Church at Brook Hills. Ask God to grow our love and care for one another. Pray we will all work together to build one another up as we each work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Pray we will all grasp the truth that we have been blessed by God to be a blessing to others. Ask God to grant us all the strength and conviction to humbly, graciously, and mercifully provide correction and discipline to one another when needed.Thank God for the loving affirmation He provides us and pray for Him to help us in our affirmation of one another and the other churches with whom we partner and work for gospel advancement and Kingdom growth.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the holiday outreach efforts taking place all over the city and for Brook Hills members and other believers as we seek to glorify God by displaying and declaring the gospel during this season. We are also praying for Westwood Baptist Church, Alabaster, and Pastor Kenneth Bruce.
DAY 1: This week, over 200 children in the Marks Village public housing project will receive a Christmas shoebox and storybook. The story is about Jesus, the King of Kings, who came to give them the greatest gift of all. Pray for the children who will receive a shoebox gift this week.
DAY 2: Oak Tree Ministries will distribute 65 Thanksgiving Meals to families in need in Marks Village. Pray this demonstration of love will bear much fruit in the hearts of those who receive the meals and that the gospel would be joyfully shared and received.
DAY 3: Pray for local ministries serving low-income families during the holidays by providing meals, clothing, gifts, and fellowship. Pray that God would provide the funds and volunteers needed to accomplish these good works and that these ministry touches will be lled with gospel conversations.
DAY 4: Pray for our Faith Family as we nd ways to engage the lost, show hospitality, and exalt Christ during the holidays. This season offers a unique opportunity to witness to others while celebrating the free gift of eternal life made possible by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
DAY 5: Pray for those who do not have family or friends to gather with during the holidays. Pray for our Faith Family to be compelled by love and to represent Christ well by welcoming those who are alone into their homes.
DAY 6: Pray for our holiday Worship Gatherings, that members and visitors alike would praise God for sending His own Son to earth to live, to die, and to be raised to life for us. Pray for many to trust in Jesus for their salvation and experience the joy He gives, the peace He brings, and the love He pours out for us.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for the Arundo people group in North Africa. Arundo is an adopted nickname for a people group whose identity must be kept secure because we currently have a Church Planting team serving among them.
Population: Over 10 Million located primarily in North Africa
Beliefs: Almost entirely Muslim
Christian Presence: Less than 0.01% Evangelical Christian – The Arundo are among the top ve unreached people groups in the world.
DAY 1: The Arundo are almost entirely Muslim. Some hold a mix of Islamic and Animistic beliefs, but the Qur’an is the chief religious authority. Pray for a movement of God among the Arundo. Pray for God to stir their hearts towards Christ.
DAY 2: There is a tiny group of believers among the Arundo. Christians are despised and heavily persecuted, even martyred, but there is a movement of growing faith and vision to share boldly. Pray for the small group of Arundo believers to remain faithful and for God to use them to share the gospel, even in persecution.
DAY 3: The Church at Brook Hills sent out a Church Planting team to serve among the Arundo. Access can be dif cult into the Arundo community. Pray for God to continue to open up doors for gospel engagement and for a healthy, multiplying church to be established among the Arundo people.
DAY 4: This week there is a Brook Hills Short-Term team serving among the Arundo. Their main goal is to engage as many Arundo people as possible and share the gospel. Pray for God to bring people into their path who are seeking Christ. Pray for someone to believe.
DAY 5: There are abundant physical needs among the Arundo. Their situation has been called the world’s worst humanitarian disaster. Pray for God to provide basics like clean water, food, and medical care for their community. Ask God to give the church resources to help meet these urgent physical needs.
DAY 6: Pray for God to sustain believers among the Arundo and those He has sent out to make disciples among them. Ask God to ransom many Arundo from the darkness in which they live.
