Pray for the Church
Praise God for His generosity toward us. Pray for the Spirit to guide our understanding of giving and generosity. Pray we will give out of joy and love for others. Pray we will avoid drawing attention to ourselves for our giving and generosity. Thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed upon us. Ask Him to reveal to you needs of people He desires you to meet.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Abiding Hearts Home Care, a ministry led by Brook Hills members, Randy and Courtney Johnson. Abiding Hearts Home Care is a Christ-centered home care ministry that cares for the widowed, sick, and elderly living in Birmingham by practically displaying God’s love for them. We are also praying for 6th Avenue Baptist Church and Pastor John Cantelow.
DAY 1: Pray that as they provide many hot meals and meet many practical needs of the widowed, sick and elderly, those they serve would see that they are serving under the name of Jesus and that their efforts are tangible displays of His love for them.
DAY 2: Pray Jesus’ Name will be glori ed and His Kingdom advanced through the ministry of Abiding Hearts Home Care.
DAY 3: Pray for the volunteers to shine the light of Christ as they prepare meals, facilitate house church, clean homes, take care of yards, and use their speci c skills and gifts to serve the widowed, sick, and elderly. Pray for the Lord of the harvest to raise up volunteers to advance the gospel and encourage the faith.
DAY 4: Pray for Randy and Courtney to abide deeply in intimate fellowship with Christ as they go out in His strength. Pray that people would hear God’s voice clearly as they facilitate House Church and worship with those they are caring for.
DAY 5: Please pray for God to faithfully provide the nancial support necessary to look after the sick, elderly, and widowed in their time of distress.
DAY 6: Pray the widowed, sick, and elderly brothers and sisters in Christ would be encouraged that their life still has much purpose in making disciples. Pray the personal testimonies of clients shared through the blog would honor God’s faithfulness, and that readers would come to faith in Christ through their stories.
Pray for the World
Next week begins our month long celebration of all God has accomplished through the Global Offering. The Global Offering is how our faith family fuels our Global Disciple-Making efforts to all nations. It is an offering, separate from our budget, above and beyond our regular tithes and offerings. It helps send out Short, Mid, and Long-Termers; it helps support ministry projects through eld partners; and it ultimately allows us to participate in the vision God has given our faith family to see churches strengthened and established among unreached people groups all over the world. Join us this week as we thank God for the opportunity to contribute to the Global Offering and pray we continue to participate in the work He is doing among all nations. To give to the Global Offering visit: brookhills.org/globaloffering.
DAY 1: Thank God for the way he has used our faith family this year to participate in the advancement of the gospel to all nations. Thank Him for blessing us to be a blessing to those who have never heard of Christ.
DAY 2: This year the Global Offering was used to send our faith family on 33 different Short-Term trips. Praise God for mobilizing so many of our members to be on mission. Praise God for the opportunities to share the gospel on these trips. Praise God for saving many who heard of Christ.
DAY 3: This year the Global Offering was used to send 41 Mid-Termers (members who serve for 2 months – 2 years) to strengthen eld partners and church planting teams. Pray for those who are currently serving. Pray that our faith family would sacri cially give again so we can send more Mid-Termers in 2017.
DAY 4: This year the Global Offering was used to send and support 25 Long-Term missionaries who are currently on the eld. Pray for our missionaries as they work in dif cult places. Pray for God to call more members from our faith family to go.
DAY 5: Ask the Father to show you how you can sacri cially participate in the Global Offering this year. Consider how you can use your resources to participate in the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
DAY 6: Ask the Lord to bless the Global Offering. Pray for our faith family to give with glad hearts and for the Lord to be pleased as we glorify and honor him through our giving.
