Pray for the Church
Praise God for sending Jesus with His loving message of salvation in the gospel. Ask God to keep us focused on Christ throughout this holiday season. Pray we will grow in awareness of our need for Christ and in our gratitude for all He has done for us. Pray for opportunities for us to maximize this Christmas season to introduce others to who Jesus is and their need for His grace. Pray for the lost to recognize their need of a Savior and for God to lead them to faith. Pray we will all represent Jesus and His love to a lost and hurting world.
Pray for the City
Brook Hills Jail & Prison Ministry Teams
This week we are praying for our jail and prison ministry teams as they seek to advance the gospel and make disciples among the incarcerated in Birmingham City Jail, Jefferson County Jail, and St. Clair Prison, and among those recently released from prison through Shepherd’s Fold and L.I.F.E. Tech transitional centers. We are also praying for The Church Behind Bars.
Day 1: Pray for God to be glori ed by our jail and prison ministry teams as they proclaim the Word of Life and sow gospel seeds into the lives of the incarcerated.
Day 2: Pray, upon hearing the Word, the Holy Spirit would convict unbelievers in these facilities to trust in Christ for their salvation and would encourage existing believers in their faith.
Day 3: Pray for the teams that minister weekly in Jefferson County Jail and Birmingham City Jail. Pray for God to sustain these faithful seed sowers when their short time with inmates appears fruitless and that they would trust Him to water the seeds that have been planted in faith and bring new life.
Day 4: Pray for the Brook Hills-led worship service that takes place in St. Clair Prison once a month on Wednesdays, and for the ongoing discipleship relationships with those who are facing years of imprisonment. Pray for Brook Hills’ member and prison Chaplain, Jeremy Miller, as he continues to love and serve the men of St. Clair prison.
Day 5: Pray for the Church behind bars in prisons throughout Alabama. Pray for those who now know Christ to proclaim the gospel daily with their words and actions and will be identi ed as followers of Christ by their love for one another. Pray for the Church to multiply as incarcerated men and women make disciples.
Day 6: Pray for God to call out more members of our Faith Family to be a light in local jails and prisons, the darkest areas of our city, and for those who hear His call to respond in joyful obedience and fearless faith.
Pray for the World
This week we are celebrating how the Global Offering has allowed Brook Hills to send and support a team of Church Planters, Long-Term missionaries, and Mid-Term missionaries to work among an unreached people group called the Hui. As a reminder, the Global Offering is how our Faith Family fuels our mission efforts each year. Through the Global Offering this year our Faith Family not only was able to put a team among the Hui, but the Global Offering opened up doors into Hui villages and homes for the gospel to be shared. Thank you for giving to the Global Offering. Join us this week as we pray for the Hui and our team that is serving among them. To learn more about the Hui visit pray4hui.com.
Day 1: Praise God for the nine members of our Faith Family who are currently serving Mid-Term and Long-Term on our East Asia Church Planting Team. Pray for each of them to be encouraged this week and be able to share the gospel boldly and without hindrance.
Day 2: Thank the Lord for opening up doors into Hui villages and homes. Thank the Lord for the Global Offering that allowed us to send Short-Term teams of students and adults this year to live in Hui villages and homes. Pray for the Hui families who heard the gospel for the first time. Pray for God to use those encounters to draw people to Himself.
Day 3: Pray for God to continue to provide sustainable ways for our Church Planting team members to remain in East Asia. Pray for the new business that has been started. Pray for God to make the business pro table and to be shining light in the community.
Day 4: There are around 15 million Hui spread throughout East Asia. To be Hui is to be Muslim. There are no Hui churches and very few believers. Pray for a movement of God among the Hui. Ask God to bless the Global Offering so we can continue to contribute to church planting efforts among the Hui.
Day 5: There are other families from Brook Hills who are in the process of joining our East Asia Church Planting team. Pray for God to continue to call out more members of our Faith Family to go.
Day 6: Pray for God to be honored and glorified among the Hui. Pray for God to use our East Asia team to expand His Kingdom. Pray for the Spirit to help them.
Joy to the World (Oh Sing to the Lord)

Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods
Rocks hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat repeat the sounding joy

For His salvation brings joy to the world
Oh pour out your praise
Forever enthroned He will reign
King of the nations, He brings joy to the world
Verse 3
No more let sins and sorrows grow
Nor thorns infest the ground
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found
Far as the curse is found
Far as far as the curse is found
Verse 4
He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders wonders of His love
Come Thou Long Expected Jesus
Verse 1
Come, Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us,
Let us find our rest in Thee.
Israel's strength and consolation,
Hope of all the earth Thou art;
Dear desire of every nation,
Joy of every longing heart.
Verse 2
Joy to those who long to see Thee,
Dayspring from on high appear;
Come, thou promised Rod of Jesse,
Of Thy birth we long to hear.
O'er the hills the angels singing
News, glad tidings of a birth;
"Go to Him, your praises bringing;
Christ the Lord has come to earth."
Verse 3
Come to earth to taste our sadness,
He whose glories knew no end;
By His life He brings us gladness,
Our Redeemer, Shepherd, Friend.
Leaving riches without number,
Born within a cattle stall;
This is everlasting wonder,
Christ was born the Lord of all.
Verse 4
Born Thy people to deliver,
Born a child and yet a King,
Born to reign in us forever,
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring.
By Thine own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone;
By Thine all sufficient merit,
Raise us to Thy glorious throne.
All Glory Be to Christ
Verse 1
Should nothing of our efforts stand
No legacy survive
Unless the Lord does raise the house in vain
Its builders strive
To you who boast tomorrow’s gain
Tell me what is your life
A mist that vanishes at dawn all glory be to Christ
Chorus
All glory be to Christ our king
All glory be to Christ
His rule and reign we’ll ever sing
All glory be to Christ
Verse 2
His will be done His kingdom come
On earth as is above
Who is Himself our daily bread
Praise Him the Lord of love
Let living water satisfy the thirsty without price
We’ll take a cup of kindness
Yet all glory be to Christ
Verse 3
When on the day the great I Am
The faithful and the true
The Lamb who was for sinners slain
Is making all things new
Behold our God shall live with us
And be our steadfast light
And we shall ere his people be
All glory be to Christ
All I Have is Christ
Verse 1
I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still
Verse 2
But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God's love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace
Chorus
Hallelujah all I have is Christ
Hallelujah Jesus is my life
Verse 3
Now Lord I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me
O Father use my ransomed life
In any way You choose
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You
