Scripture Memory
Pray for the Church
Praise God for His promises made and fulfilled throughout Scripture. Thank God for the gift of His Holy Spirit, and ask the Spirit to empower us to faithfully follow Him. Pray for God to help us all be bold witnesses and work tirelessly, pray endlessly, and give sacrificially to get the gospel of Christ to all peoples everywhere.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for The Foundry Ministries, a nonprofit organization that provides life-changing guidance and hope for the addict, the ex-inmate, and those in low-income communities. The Foundry is a haven where the broken can experience the love of Christ, find freedom, and discover purpose through a transitional housing environment and community ministries. We are also praying for Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Pratt City, and Pastor QE Hammonds.
Day 1: Pray for The Foundry as they labor to see the chains of drug and alcohol addiction broken by the power of the gospel.
DAY 2: Pray for the 410 men and women residing at The Foundry to experience a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
DAY 3: Pray for the families of those in the recovery program to experience healing from the broken relationships caused by the addictions that their loved ones have battled.
DAY 4: Pray for the 130 staff members who come from all walks of life to serve at The Foundry. Pray for strength and renewal as they pour themselves out daily to serve others.
DAY 5: Pray for the joy of Christ to fill the hearts of the residents this holiday season. Pray especially for those separated from their families due to the harmful effects of addiction, imprisonment, and homelessness.
DAY 6: Pray for abundant resources that would enable the ministry to impact more lives for the sake of Christ in the coming years.
Pray for the World
This week, we want to praise God for how He has used the Global Offering in Southeast Asia. Two years ago, Brook Hills launched a pilot project called the Global Cities Initiative, in partnership with the IMB, where we began to pray for and mobilize people to study, retire, or use their marketable skills to join church-planting teams in strategic cities around the world. The Lord was gracious, and Brook Hills was able to send twelve people and participate in ministry projects to strengthen the work in Kuala Lumpur (KL). This week, we want to pray for those we have sent out and ask God to continue to use them to make His name known through their faithfulness in KL.
Day 1: Praise God for how He called out members from Brook Hills to join in this initiative. Pray for God to continue to call out more from Brook Hills to go and use their marketable skills and even retirement in strategic areas of the world.
DAY 2: Pray for God to continue to open new job opportunities in KL for professionals to be able to work, live, and make disciples.
DAY 3: It is estimated that there are between 200-300 believers of the 17 million Malay living in Malaysia. KL is the key to reaching Malaysia. Pray for a movement of God in KL. Pray for the gospel to spread and for God to use the incredible team there in KL to advance His kingdom.
DAY 4: Praise God for the short-term, mid-term, and long-term teams we have been able to send to KL. Pray for God to continue to bless the Global Offering so we can continue to sustain our people and send more teams to join them in the work God has given.
DAY 5: KL is rich in religious diversity. There are parts of town where you can see a mosque, a Hindu temple, a Taoist shrine, and a cathedral all within a few city blocks of each other. Praise God for all of the nations in one place. Praise God for access to unreached people groups that live in closed countries. Pray for believers in KL to be faithful witnesses. Pray for God to establish His church among these unreached people groups.
DAY 6: Pray for the local churches that our people have joined. Pray that they would have opportunities to strengthen the local believers in KL and make disciples who multiply themselves for God’s glory.
