Pray for the Church
Praise God for sending His Son, Jesus Christ, on that first Christmas so long ago. Pray for opportunities to share the message of Christmas with others we encounter over these holidays. Ask God to soften the hearts of those who will hear the gospel through so many times of celebration and to grant them ears to hear and faith to believe. Pray for God to use us all individually and corporately as a church to carry His gospel to many who have not yet heard, that we might celebrate Christmas next year with new brothers and sisters in Christ.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for Jimmie Hale Mission, a Christian nonprofit ministry that includes a homeless shelter for men, a shelter for women and children, after-school Bible clubs, recovery programs, learning centers, and thrift stores. The purpose of Jimmie Hale Mission is to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of men, women, and children in our community through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are also praying for 16th Street Baptist Church and Pastor Arthur Price.
DAY 1: Pray for the Mission to be in the center of God’s will and for the staff and volunteers to be submissive to God’s leading as they look forward to celebrating their 75th anniversary in 2019.
DAY 2: Pray for the Board of Directors to be committed to Christ and to lead their lives and the ministry with integrity.
DAY 3: Pray for the staff to be filled with mercy and compassion for those they are serving and to not grow weary in well doing.
DAY 4: Pray the Mission’s priority will always be to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of the poor and hurting in Jesus’ name. Pray for volunteers to come alongside the staff in agreement with the Mission’s purpose and to complement their efforts.
DAY 5: Pray for donors to be obedient to God in their giving, and in return, for God to bless them for their faithfulness.
DAY 6: Pray for every client to see the love of Christ through the staff and volunteers and to be open to God’s work in their lives.
Pray for the World
This week, as we celebrate how the Global Offering has been used, we want to praise God for how He is moving among unreached people groups in Nepal. Specifically, we give thanks for how He is working among the ethnic Tibetan Buddhist people groups of Nepal. Praise God that He is saving many from literally the hardest-to-reach places on the planet. This week we want to pray for the half million people who represent 23 Tibetan Buddhist people groups scattered in the valleys of the Himalayas and for God to use Brook Hills to make His name known among them. Join us as we pray for the people groups listed below.
DAY 1: The Humla people live in the extremely remote northwestern corner of Nepal. Flying in or trekking great distances is required to access their village. There are only four known believers among the 5,000+ Humla people. Pray for God to call out workers to go to the Humla to share the gospel.
DAY 2: The Kaike people lived in three villages along the Tichurong Valley. They practice Tibetan Buddhism. There are no known Kaike Christians and there is no access to the gospel through Scripture, gospel film, or gospel recordings in their language. Pray for God to send someone to tell them about Christ.
DAY 3: Of all of the Tibetan Buddhist people groups of Nepal, the Southern Ghale people live at the lowest elevation and can be accessed with relative ease. As a result, there are a few hundred believers which gather in a number of churches across this area. Pray for the growth of these believers as they study God’s Word. Pray for them to be faithful to share with friends, family, and other surrounding villages.
DAY 4: The Hyolmo people live in the Langtang area. They are staunchly Buddhist and resistant to change. However there are five Christian fellowships in the Langtang area. Many Hyolmo people spend the winter in Kathmandu and have heard the gospel and believed. These believers are met with very intense persecution. Pray for these believers to be steadfast and faithful. Pray for God to use their faithfulness to show His glory to others.
DAY 5: The Thudam people are a small and isolated people. There are no roads in this corner of Nepal, and they are a two day walk from the nearest village. The Thudam people are Buddhists. There are no known believers among the Thudam people. Pray for God to open opportunities for the gospel to be made known to the Thudam people.
DAY 6: The Sherpa people are a large people group and one of the most famous inhabitants of Nepal. The Sherpa are Tibetan Buddhists. God, however, is doing a great work, and there are over 500 Sherpa believers in Nepal. Pray for God to stir the hearts of Sherpa believers and create a desire in them to get the gospel to those around them who have never heard of Christ.

Saved My Soul
Chorus
You my God have saved my soul
I am Yours forevermore
I won't be moved of this I'm sure
You are my God and You saved my soul
Verse 1
I was lost when you came for me
Held in chains by the enemy
But You broke them in victory
Now I'm free I am free
Verse 2
You’re my joy and You are my hope
I am saved by Your grace alone
I will sing of Your love for me
I am free I am free
Verse 3
Now I stand with the Kings of kings
He has paid for my every sin
And from now through eternity
I am free I am free
Bridge
What once was dead is now alive
You gave to me the breath of life
You brought me up out from the grave
I'm bursting out with songs of praise
Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery
Verse 1
Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
In the dawning of the King
He the theme of heaven's praises
Robed in frail humanity
In our longing in our darkness
Now the light of life has come
Look to Christ who condescended
Took on flesh to ransom us
Verse 2
Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
He the perfect Son of Man
In His living in His suff'ring
Never trace nor stain of sin
See the true and better Adam
Come to save the hell-bound man
Christ the great and sure fulfillment
Of the law in Him we stand
Verse 3
Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
Christ the Lord upon the tree
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory
See the price of our redemption
See the Father's plan unfold
Bringing many sons to glory
Grace unmeasured love untold
Verse 4
Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
Slain by death the God of life
But no grave could e'er restrain Him
Praise the Lord He is alive
What a foretaste of deliv'rance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when He comes
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Verse 1
Hark the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled
Joyful all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With th'angelic hosts proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem
Hark the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Verse 2
Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of the Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail th'incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with men to dwell
Jesus our Emmanuel
Hark the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
Verse 3
Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace
Hail the Sun of Righteousness
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
O Come O Come Emmanuel
Verse 1
O come O come Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Verse 2
O come thou rod of Jesse free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of hell Thy people save
And give them victory o'er the grave
Verse 3
O come Desire of nations bind
In one the hearts of all mankind
Bid Thou our sad divisions cease
And be Thyself our King of Peace
Bridge
Rejoice, rejoice
Christ has come
Christ has died
Christ is risen
Rejoice, rejoice
Christ has come
Emmanuel
O Praise the Name
Verse 1
I cast my mind to Calvary
Where Jesus bled and died for me
I see His wounds His hands His feet
My Savior on that cursed tree
Verse 2
His body bound and drenched in tears
They laid Him down in Joseph's tomb
The entrance sealed by heavy stone
Messiah still and all alone
Chorus
O praise the Name of the Lord our God
O praise His Name forevermore
For endless days we will sing Your praise
O Lord O Lord our God
Verse 3
Then on the third at break of dawn
The Son of heaven rose again
O trampled death where is your sting
The angels roar for Christ the King
Verse 4
He shall return in robes of white
The blazing sun shall pierce the night
And I will rise among the saints
My gaze transfixed on Jesus' face
