Pray for the Church
Praise God for Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross, which made the way for us to be reconciled to Him. Confess and repent of your own sin in your life, and ask and thank God for His forgiveness. Praise Him for Jesus’ resurrection, which demonstrates His power over sin and death. Thank God for the faith He grants us through His grace so we might be saved.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries (ABCH). ABCH strives to protect, nurture, and restore children and families through Christ-centered services such as Family Care Homes for homeless mothers and their children, emergency shelter care for children, foster care training, professional counseling for families and children, camps and events for foster care families, and seminars on child and family issues like the upcoming Empowered To Connect workshop at Brook Hills April 26-27 (brookhills.org/etc). We are also praying for Christ Fellowship Church and Pastor Bart Box.
Day 1: Pray for the children in ABCH’s care as they hear and see the gospel, for the seeds which are being planted to find fertile soil and for many to trust in Jesus and find hope and rest in Him.
Day 2: Pray for the foster families to have discernment to identify spiritual warfare and work as a community to bear one another’s burdens. Pray for God to raise up more Christian parents to be foster care parents.
Day 3: Pray for the wellbeing and healthy development of children being born with opioid addictions due to parental drug use.
Day 4: Pray for Pathways Professional Counseling therapists. Pray they would be vessels of the Holy Spirit, showing God’s grace, wisdom, and love to their clients.
Day 5: Pray for the completion and opening of the new Shelter Care home in Decatur, AL which will serve many children whose families are in crisis. Join us in thanking God for generous donors who have enabled them to build this new cottage to serve even more children.
Day 6: Pray for God to grace ABCH with protection for their children and families and provide wisdom to their leadership team.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Chris and Joanna R. who are serving long-term in Southeast Asia. Chris and Joanna were sent out almost two years ago to join a team sharing the gospel and making disciples among an unreached people group with a population of 35 million, ninety-nine percent of them Muslim. Join us as we pray for Chris and Joanna and the people they serve.
Day 1: For the last year, Chris and Joanna have been in full time language school. Praise God they are officially done. Pray for God to bless their comprehension and interpretation of language and use it to clearly communicate the good news of Christ.
Day 2: Pray for Chris as he encourages national partners who are sharing the gospel every day in their country. Pray for God to give him wisdom as he strengthens their walk with Christ and partners together for the growth of the Church.
Day 3: Chris and Joanna work specifically with a non-profit organization that provides resources for families in need of clean drinking water. Pray that through this organization, Christ’s name would be made known and many would come to faith in Him.
Day 4: Joanna is meeting with many women right now. Some who are new believers and some who have not yet believed. Pray for Joanna as she engages with her friends to show the character and love of Christ so they may know Him and want to follow Him more.
Day 5: Pray for Chris and Joanna to be dependent on the Father in all they do, to always be sensitive to His leading and directing. Pray for them to be a help and blessing to their team and be able to contribute to the opening of doors for people to hear and respond to the good news.
Day 6: Pray for many to come to faith in Christ as they hear the gospel from Chris and Joanna. Pray for Christ to increase and for Chris and Joanna to decrease.
