Pray for the Church
Praise God for His unfailing love. Ask Him to help us recognize all of His many blessings in our lives and to be a blessing the world around us by sharing His love and concern for them. Pray for God to prepare people here and around the world to hear His gospel and respond in faith. Ask God to grow our reach into the world with our faithful witness to the gospel.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for the families of Oliver Elementary School and the Love Oliver Campaign that launches today. Through Love Oliver, Brook Hills has the opportunity to join the staff and partners of Oliver Elementary School in supporting Oliver students, their families, and the surrounding community while pointing to the perfect redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Find out how you can “Love Oliver” at brookhills.org/loveoliver. We are also praying for New Community Baptist Church, Gate City, and Pastor Donnie Chapman.
Day 1: Many Oliver families face a host of economic, academic, and spiritual hurdles. Pray for God to enable us to minister to their tangible needs while pointing them to the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
Day 2: Pray for those serving in various roles as mentors to Oliver students. Pray for God to lead them to exemplify the unconditional, selfless love of Christ.
Day 3: Ask God to save and raise up a generation of young disciples at Oliver Elementary School and through Oak Tree Ministries who will become examples to their peers and families.
Day 4: Pray for generous giving as we aim to raise $30,000 by June 2 to purchase classroom supplies and academic resources, meet clothing and food needs, incentivize parent involvement and school attendance, and bless the teachers and staff.
Day 5: Pray for Oak Tree Ministries, a partner of Love Oliver and Brook Hills, as they provide relief, development, and discipleship opportunities for Oliver families through the Sunday Bible Club, After-school Reading Club, Teen Ministry, Women’s Fellowship, and other avenues.
Day 6: Pray for our faith family and community partners to work together in unity to invest time, care, resources, and prayer into our neighbors in need around Oliver Elementary school and for God to do a transforming work in the whole Gate City community.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Northern Yemeni Arabs, an unengaged and unreached people group in Yemen. There are approximately 10 million Northern Yemeni Arabs inside the country of Yemen. The primary language is Sanaani Arabic and the primary religion is Shia Islam. Most of their people live in the northern mountains and northeastern deserts of Yemen, some are in the capital city of Sana’a. According to research there are 0.00% Evangelical Christians in this people group. Join us as we pray for the Northern Yemeni Arabs of Yemen. For more information visit brookhills.org/people-groups.
Day 1: Yemen is one of the Arab world’s poorest countries and has been devastated by a civil war that began in 2015. Pray for God’s peace to come to the people and land of Yemen.
Day 2: Pray for the Northern Yemeni Arabs to hunger for righteousness and forgiveness found only in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Day 3: Yemen is not easily accessible to outsiders, and not open to Christian testimony. Pray for God to open doors into the country and into the Northern Yemeni community. Pray for the gospel to spread in ways that transcend boundaries.
Day 4: Pray for the few known believers outside of Yemen to grow in holiness and love. Pray for access into their homeland where they can share Christ and make His name known to their families and communities.
Day 5: Pray for God to raise up believers to count the cost and go for the sake of the Northern Yemeni Arabs knowing Christ.
Day 6: Pray for God to move among the Northern Yemeni Arabs of Yemen. Pray for their hearts to be softened and their eyes opened to see their need for a Savior.
