Pray for the Church
Praise God for transforming us through the power of His gospel into a holy people. Ask God for strength to resist temptation and to live good and holy lives in the world around us. Pray for people in our lives to recognize the work of God in us so we might have opportunity to share the gospel with them. Pray for strength and perseverance to endure persecution. Ask God to continue to form us more and more into the image of Christ.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Rock the Block. Rock the Blocks are 4-day Backyard Bible Clubs filled with fun, games, and
Bible stories dispersed to neighborhoods throughout the city. Rock the Block resources are created by our Children’s Ministry and implemented by our faith family and other churches across the nation to engage neighbors and their children with the gospel. You can find out more at brookhills.org/rocktheblock. We are also praying for Gardendale First Baptist Church and Pastor Kevin Hamm.
Pray for the World
This week we continue our prayer focus on the billions of Muslims all over the world who are observing Ramadan this month. Throughout Ramadan men and women abstain from food, drink, and other pleasures during the day in order to try and remove their sin and draw closer to God. Brook Hills has strategically sent out workers and teams to many Muslim people groups around the world for gospel engagement. This week we want to focus our prayers on the Malay of Malaysia. There are a little over 7 million Malay in peninsular Malaysia and very few believers among them. Follow @loveklcity on Instagram for updated prayer requests for the Malay. We are also praying for our two short-term teams serving in Southeast Asia.
His Mercy is More
Verse 1
What love could remember no wrongs we have done
Omniscient all knowing He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 2
What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father so tender is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest the vilest the poor
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Verse 3
What riches of kindness He lavished on us
His blood was the payment His life was the cost
We stood 'neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
Chorus
Praise the Lord His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness new every morn
Our sins they are many His mercy is more
