Pray for the Church
Praise God for the salvation He makes available through Jesus Christ. Ask Him to develop hope and joy within each of us.
Pray for God to sustain us to persevere through trials we face.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Christian Marriages in Crisis (CMIC), a ministry led by Brook Hills members, Paul and Suzi Talley. CMIC (christianmarriagesincrisis.com) works to bring healing, restoration, and healthy communication to Christian couples experiencing crisis in their marriage. They provide couple-to-couple counseling, a community of Encouragers, and special workshops for wives, husbands, and couples. We are also praying for Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and Pastor David Eldridge.
Day 1: Pray they will have the resources needed to be able to continue to offer free support to couples in crisis. Pray for the success of their 7th Annual CMIC Golf Tournament fundraiser on May 10, their biggest fundraiser of the year.
Day 2: Pray for the Lord to protect and strengthen Paul and Suzanne’s faith, marriage, and family as they care for others in crisis. Pray for their children and grandchildren to grow in their love for Christ.
Day 3: Pray for those attending the upcoming Couples Workshops on May 17-19 to come with open and softened hearts.
Day 4: Pray for wisdom and grace for Paul and Suzanne as they continue to care for Paul’s mother who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
Day 5: Pray for the Board of CMIC to be wise and Spirit-led in giving direction to the growth and expansion of the ministry. Pray for more Board members who have a passion to save and restore broken marriages.
Day 6: Pray for spiritual protection as the Talleys and others serve on the front lines of ministry, engaging with the enemy of marriage on a daily basis. Pray they would be open and vulnerable and would have strong accountability and support from those around them.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our Brook Hills Mid-Termers who are being sent out this summer to serve in five different countries around the world. Mid-Term is one of the ways we as a church mobilize our faith family to make disciples of all nations. Mid-Term allows the opportunity for our members to serve in other contexts for 2 months up to 2 years. This summer we have the privilege to send out 11 of our members to share the gospel in mostly unreached areas of the world. Praise God for how He is continuing to call out men and women from Brook Hills to strategically use their lives for the sake of making Christ known in different contexts around the world. Join us as we pray for our 2019 Summer Mid-Termers.
Day 1: Pray for Genie as she joins a church planting team in Paraguay. Pray for Genie to find community among fellow believers and to strengthen the work that the long-term workers are doing there.
Day 2: Pray for Catie, Amanda, Abby, Elizabeth, and Maggie as they serve in North Africa together this summer. Pray for their team to magnify the Lord and bring glory to His name. Pray for many opportunities to share Christ and for those who will hear to believe.
Day 3: Pray for Molly and Caroline as they serve together in East Asia. Pray for both of them to be bold to share the gospel, be focused on the purpose of Christ, and dependent on the Spirit for everything throughout their time there.
Day 4: Pray for Sarah as she serves in Nashville this summer. Pray for the men and women Sarah will meet and share the gospel with. Pray for their hearts to be open and for them to desire to learn more about Christ.
Day 5: Pray for Josh as he joins a team in Spain engaging the lost in their city. Pray for God to provide Josh with patience and energy to integrate well into a new culture and for him to be effective in sharing the gospel.
Day 6: Pray for Alex as she works with other college students this summer in North Africa. Pray for Alex to be humble in an unfamiliar context and to be bold when she has the opportunity to share the gospel.
