A New Season of Ministry
Brook Hills ContributorOn January 1, Nate Farrow began a new season of ministry on our staff. His new title is now Young Adult and Pastoral Care Minister. We’re so excited for Nate to now be able to use his gifts and ministerial passion to serve our faith family in an expanded way. Below is a short letter from Nate explaining just what he’ll be doing and his excitement for the days ahead.
Brook Hills,
Over the last five years, I have had the great joy of serving you as an elder and minister to Singles 20s/30s. During that time, I started to sense a growing desire to provide pastoral care to our faith family in a broader context while continuing to lead and disciple young adults. So when I was approached last year about considering the possibility of a different role that would allow for all of those things to happen, the answer was obvious to me. Yes!
I am so excited to be taking on some of the pastoral care side of ministry at Brook Hills. I consider it a great privilege to be able to pray for you, teach, encourage, provide care, and equip others to do the same through all of life’s joys and sorrows whether that be funerals, weddings, hospital visits, or other crisis care needs. My hope is that, by God’s grace, we will be people who hold firmly to the truth of the Gospel and the promise that no matter what we celebrate or suffer through, Jesus is better and Jesus is enough.
Although my role and responsibilities are shifting, I’m grateful that I can continue to pastor young adults in an expanded capacity that includes Singles 20s/30s, Young Couples, and Families with Preschoolers. Part of this shift means that Ashley Chesnut will also be moving into the role of Associate Young Adult Minister, where she will be able to serve the church in the ways God has gifted her as a minister, writer, and teacher. Additionally, I will continue providing oversight and assistance to our Men’s Ministry and leadership teams. On that note, there are some great things coming this year that I believe will help us reach and disciple men in our church and in our city.
I look forward to the days ahead as we move together toward loving Jesus, growing in Jesus, and making disciples of Jesus in 2021.
