Ways To Give Generously
Chris Kinsley
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
– 2 Corinthians 9:7
Generosity has always been a characteristic we desire to cultivate at The Church at Brook Hills, and so many of us faithfully demonstrate our generosity through giving in a variety of ways. We give of our time. We give of our gifts and talents. We give one another the lessons we’ve learned from God and His Word, and, of course, we give of our resources for the spread of the gospel and the growth of God’s Kingdom.
Throughout this year we have continually reiterated the need to be obedient to God through our generous giving along with the giving priorities we desire each Brook Hills member to have. First, we desire for our members to give to our General Ministry Budget which enables so much of our ministry here, from Preschool Ministry to small groups, City Ministries to Global Disciple-Making, and everything in between. Second, every December we challenge one another to match what we spend on gifts at Christmas with what we give to the Global Offering, which is the primary means through which we support members of our faith family on short-term, mid-term, and long-term mission all around the world along with strategic field partners and crisis relief. Third, we’re asking every member to prayerfully consider how God might be leading them to participate in our Roots & Reach Initiative, which is helping fund our campus development project and special mission projects.
Just as there are many ways we as a faith family display our generosity, there are also a number of avenues through which we can practice our giving.
- Offering Baskets - Every time we gather together for worship, giving is an essential part of what we do. After all, it is one expression of our worship together. You can always give by cash or check by dropping it in the baskets we pass, or, in the case of Global Offering, in the large baskets we have throughout the room in the month of December.
- Online - Visit brookhills.org/give on your computer, phone, or tablet, or use the link in our app to be directed to our online giving system. You will need to register the first time you use it, but after that, it gets even easier. You can give one time by card or bank draft, or set up recurring giving to automate your generosity.
- Giving Kiosk - Our giving kiosk is located in our main lobby and allows you the opportunity to give by card as part of your regular Sunday worship or any other time throughout the week.
- Mail - You can always send in your gift through the mail to our church offices at 3145 Brook Highland Pkwy, Birmingham, AL 35242.
Faith family, we know during this time of year there are a number of good organizations and ministries requesting your support. We are deeply grateful for your ongoing faithfulness, sacrifice, and generosity toward the church throughout this giving season. Thank you.
