International Care Team
OBJECTIVE:
The Mission & Vision of the Brook Hills International Care Team is to meet immediate physical and civil needs of internationals in Birmingham so that we have the opportunity to meet spiritual needs as well.
Volunteers serve on ministry teams that work together to meet needs as they arise.
MINISTRY TEAMS:

Legal Advocacy: Help internationals with legal questions including immigrant status, leases, and other questions.

Child Advocacy: Help internationals advocate for their children in schools and with government agencies.

Government & Assistance Programs: Help internationals navigate the charitable and governmental assistance available in Birmingham.

Job Placement & Workforce Development: Help internationals navigate workforce development programs in the city and search for new jobs.

Driving Lessons & Testing Assistance: Help internationals study for the permit test, teach them to drive, and help them navigate the world of drivers license testing.

Tangible Needs: Help internationals by picking up and delivering furniture, clothing and food.

Transportation: Help internationals on a weekly basis get to class OR help on as-needed basis to transport internationals to appointments or grocery shopping.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Criminal Background Check is Required
- No second language is required
- Volunteer Orientation and Training is Provided
