Pray for the Church
Praise God for sovereignly gathering together His people as the Church. Pray we will be a Faith Family centered around and committed to the proclamation and study of God’s Word. Ask the Spirit to grow our understanding of and obedience to the Word. Ask God to grant wisdom and strength to the leaders of our church. Pray for God to raise up men from among us to join our Elder Council to shepherd our Faith Family well. Pray for our Elder Selection Team as they begin the process of identifying potential new elders.
Pray for the City
This week we are interceding on behalf of human trafficking victims in Birmingham. Slavery, though now illegal in every country, is more prevalent today than at any other point in history. With an estimated 27 to 36 million people enslaved worldwide in various forms of sexual and labor exploitation, research over the past few years has shown that Birmingham is no exception to this problem. Join us as we ask God to put an end to the horrible injustice that is plaguing our world on a local, national, and global level. We are also praying for Briarwood Presbyterian Church, and Pastor Harry Reeder.
Day 1: Pray for God to protect, rescue, and restore human trafficking victims in our own city who have been unable to escape their circumstances. Ask that God would send his Holy Spirit to comfort the afflicted and be a very present help for them in times of trouble.
Day 2: Pray that God will bring awareness to the Body of Christ concerning modern-day slavery, awakening the community, nation, and world to the personal and societal destruction caused by forced labor and prostitution.
Day 3: Pray that the Church would be compelled by the biblical mandate in Scripture to seek justice for the oppressed. Ask God to inspire and equip local government authorities to combat slavery in all its forms.
Day 4: Sex trafficking and pornography are closely linked. Pray for sexual purity within the Church and for individuals struggling with sexual sin and ministries like Awaken that are helping adults find freedom in Christ.
Day 5: Ask Jesus for an awakening among the worst offenders of human trafficking. Pray that they would repent of their sin, turn to Jesus, and become forces for freedom.
Day 6: Pray for our Local Missions partner, The WellHouse, and other organizations in Birmingham that God has called to serve victims of human trafficking. Pray that God would grant them favor and influence in the community and success in their mission.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Mid-Termer, Rachel G. serving in Madagascar. Rachel was sent out from Brook Hills the summer of 2014 and will serve for two years as a homeschool teacher for missionary children. Rachel serves the Long-Term workers by providing a creative, well-rounded education for these families. To learn more ways to pray for Rachel and her work in Madagascar follow her blog: http://madamessage.weebly.com/. Please join us this week as we pray for Rachel G.
Day 1: Rachel just said goodbye to two of her teammates that she has been serving with this past year. Pray for Rachel as she is experiencing life without them. Pray for Rachel to trust the Lord through this transition.
Day 2: Praise God for Rachel’s role on her team. Thank the Lord for providing her the opportunity to use her education and gifting as a teacher to support and strengthen the long- term work in Madagascar.
Day 3: Pray for the Lord to strengthen Rachel and to remind her of the great purpose He has in bringing her to Madagascar for these last two years. Pray for Rachel to be steadfast and faithful to the task.
Day 4: Pray for two of Rachel’s students, Josh and Kayla, as their family prepares to return to the states. Pray for the last few days Rachel has with her students to be full of joy.
Day 5: Rachel’s language teacher and dearest Malagasy friend, Aureline, became a believer nine months ago. Pray for Aureline as she grows in faith. Pray for opportunities for Rachel to disciple Aureline.
Day 6: Pray for the Malagasy people. Pray for Rachel to continue to have opportunities to share Christ with her friends and neighbors. Pray for many to know Christ as Lord and Savior.

At Your Name
Verse 1
At Your name
The mountains shake and crumble
At Your name
The oceans roar and tumble
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out
Chorus
Lord of all the earth we shout Your name
Shout Your name
Filling up the skies with endless praise
Endless praise
Yahweh Yahweh
We love to shout Your name oh Lord
Verse 2
At Your name
The morning breaks in glory
At Your name
Creation sings Your story
At Your name angels will bow
The earth will rejoice
Your people cry out
Bridge
There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There's no one like our God
We will sing we will sing
There is no one like our God
We will praise You praise You
There's no one like our God
We will sing
Now Why This Fear
Verse 1
Now why this fear and unbelief
Has not the Father put to grief
His spotless Son for us
And will the righteous Judge of men
Condemn me for that debt of sin
Now canceled at the cross
Chorus
Jesus all my trust is in Your blood
Jesus You've rescued us
Through Your great love
Verse 2
Complete atonement You have made
And by Your death have fully paid
The debt Your people owed
No wrath remains for us to face
We're sheltered by Your saving grace
And sprinkled with Your blood
Bridge
How sweet the sound of saving grace
How sweet the sound of saving grace
Christ died for me
Verse 3
Be still my soul and know this peace
The merits of your great High Priest
Have bought your liberty
Rely then on His precious blood
Don't fear your banishment from God
Since Jesus sets you free
Jesus Son of God
Verse 1
You came down from Heaven's throne
This earth You formed was not Your home
A love like this the world had never known
A crown of thorns to mock Your name
Forgiveness fell upon Your face
A love like this the world had never known
Chorus
On the altar of our praise
Let there be no higher name
Jesus Son of God
You laid down Your perfect life
You are the sacrifice
Jesus Son of God
You are Jesus Son of God
Verse 2
You took our sin You bore our shame
You rose to life You defeated the grave
And a love like this the world has never known
'Cause You took our sin You bore our shame
You rose to life You defeated the grave
A love like this the world has never known
Bridge
Be lifted higher than all You've overcome
Your name be louder than any other song
There is no power that can come against Your love
The cross was enough
The cross was enough
Come People of the Risen King
Verse 1
Come people of the Risen King
Who delight to bring Him praise
Come all and tune your hearts to sing
To the Morning Star of grace
From the shifting shadows of the earth
We will lift our eyes to Him
Where steady arms of mercy reach
To gather children in
Chorus
Rejoice rejoice let ev'ry tongue rejoice
One heart one voice
O Church of Christ rejoice
Verse 2
Come those whose joy is morning sun
And those weeping through the night
Come those who tell of battles won
And those struggling in the fight
For His perfect love will never change
And His mercies never cease
But follow us through all our days
With the certain hope of peace
Verse 3
Come young and old from ev'ry land
Men and women of the faith
Come those with full or empty hands
Find the riches of His grace
Over all the world His people sing
Shore to shore we hear them call
The truth that cries through ev'ry age
Our God is all in all
