Pray for the Church
Praise God for those in our faith family who will soon be graduating from high school, college, and graduate school. Pray for God to help them hold fast to their faith and to the counsel of His Word throughout their future endeavors. Ask the Spirit to graciously and clearly guide them in the steps they should take. Pray for God to use them to spread His gospel and to build up His church as they do all things for His glory.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for NorthStar Soccer Ministries, a Christ-centered nonprofit soccer organization that seeks to introduce the value of sports to inner-city schools while mentoring students and sharing the gospel. We’re also praying this week for Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea and Pastor Tim Cox.
Day 1: Pray for spiritually-motivated volunteers for NorthStar who want to share the gospel and be mentors for at-risk students. Pray for fruitful gospel and discipleship conversations while they teach and coach students.
Day 2: Pray for NorthStar programs to not only benefit individual youth but also to serve as a beacon and rallying point for families. Pray that NorthStar can be one among many positive strands that do good and build the community while pointing to Christ.
Day 3: Pray against negative community influences that can lure youth away from positive opportunities. Pray against gangs, substance abuse, and crime. Pray for the flourishing of other positive opportunities such as arts programs, academic enrichment opportunities, scouting and adventure programs, and supportive church youth groups.
Day 4: Pray specifically for NorthStar’s involvement at Oliver Elementary School. The program is new to Oliver this year and the kids are excited. Pray that through soccer, many families at Oliver will come to know the love of Christ and find joy in community. Pray for NorthStar to be seen as a positive addition both to the school programming and to the community of Gate City.
Day 5: Pray for financial provision for NorthStar Soccer. Pray for many to see the positive influence sports can have on a child’s life and make an investment in that. Pray for new van donations as transportation is always an issue for NorthStar families.
Day 6: Pray for Paul Neville, NorthStar Soccer Ministries Executive Director. Pray for the Lord to give him wisdom and clarity as he seeks to continue to expand NorthStar into other schools. Pray for the Board of Directors and staff as they seek to model Christ to the families they touch in all they do.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Brook Hills Long-Termers, Caleb and Beth T., serving in Southeast Asia. Caleb and Beth were sent out by Brook Hills to join strategic church planting work among least-reached people groups in Southeast Asia. Currently, they are part of a team where they are being immersed in language and culture so they can engage and share the gospel effectively in their city. Join us this week as we pray for Caleb and Beth and their family.
Day 1: Praise God for leading Caleb and Beth to Southeast Asia. Pray for God to use their family to make Himself known in the lives of men and women living in their city.
Day 2: Beth works for a home health business in their city that allows for many opportunities for gospel engagement. Pray that the business continues to serve as an effective avenue to share the good news with people.
Day 3: Pray for God to allow Caleb and Beth to engage with locals strategically, even with strict government restrictions.
Day 4: Pray for Caleb and Beth to follow God as He guides their steps. Pray that they would continue to submit to His ways.
Day 5: Pray for Caleb and Beth’s family to love Christ more deeply, abide in Him daily, and depend on His strength and joy.
Day 6: Pray for God to raise up men from their people group that would believe and become leaders within their church. Pray for the church to be established and grow so many others might hear of Christ and see His love on display.
