Pray for the Church
Praise God for speaking to His people through His Word. Pray for God to unite us together in the Truth we speak to and with one another. Pray we will be a faith family committed to conflict resolution through love, respect, and forgiveness. Pray we will be known for our support and encouragement of one another. Ask for the Spirit to convict us of qualities in our speech and actions that do not align with His. Ask God to develop kindness toward one another within each of us.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for The Lovelady Center, a 9-12 month recovery and re-entry program designed to restore hope and rebuild lives. Women and their children enter The Lovelady Center for a variety of reasons, including homelessness, drug rehabilitation, release from prison, or end of sentence. By introducing them to Christ and offering a multitude of needed services, the Lovelady Center helps these women and their children attain a brighter future. We are also praying for Hunter Street Baptist Church and Pastor Buddy Gray.
DAY 1: Pray for the “Loveladies”- the 350+ women living at the center. Pray for their protection and provision, for a supernatural understanding of God’s Word and the gospel, and for a deep conviction of His unfailing love for them.
DAY 2: Pray for the children who are living with their moms at the Lovelady Center. Pray for broken families to be restored by the grace of God through forgiveness, patience, affirmation, and selfless love toward one another.
DAY 3: Pray for the many avenues that TLC has developed for their Loveladies to provide spiritual, physical, financial, mental, social, and academic growth. Pray for their new partnership with WorkFaith Birmingham to empower the women with the skills, ethics, and values they need to gain and retain employment as the leave TLC.
DAY 4: Pray for the staff, teachers, and facilitators at TLC as God uses them to connect with the Loveladies in the midst of their pain and brokenness and to lead them to the forgiveness and redemption found in Jesus alone.
DAY 5: Pray for the donors and volunteers who give sacrificially of their time and resources toward this ministry. It would not be possible without them.
DAY 6: Pray for God to provide exactly what is needed to faithfully execute this ministry, for continued financial provision and resources, and for good stewardship of those gifts.
Pray for the World
This week we want to spend time praying for our Brook Hills North American Church Planting Team serving in Detroit, Michigan. This team is led by Daniel and Cadie, who were sent out from our faith family. The month of June marked the beginning of Ramadan for 1.6 billion Muslims in the world. During this month, Muslims all over the world will fast, pray, and seek to be closer to Allah. The greater Detroit metro area has one of the largest Islamic populations in our nation. Join us this week as we pray that the Lord would use our Church Planting team in Detroit to make Christ known and bring Muslim men and women to Himself.
DAY 1: Pray for Daniel and Cadie as they interact with their Muslim neighbors and friends this month during Ramadan. Pray for open doors into homes and for conversations that will lead to Christ.
DAY 2: There are a group of refugee women that are gathering with Cadie on Tuesdays to be encouraged. Pray for open hearts to the gospel as Cadie shares the Word of God with them.
DAY 3: Iraqi’s are the largest people group located in Detroit. Pray for God to reveal Himself to Iraqi Muslims as they seek to please Him and be righteous before Him during Ramadan. Pray for words of truth to be spoken that Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6).
DAY 4: There is a group of Afghan Muslims who have many questions about Christ. Pray for favor as Daniel and Cadie gather this group of people together to answer their questions as they seek truth. Pray for open hearts to Christ and for their eyes to be opened to see their need for a Savior.
DAY 5: Pray for two young Syrian women in the area that Daniel and Cadie believe God is drawing to Himself. Pray that they would repent of their sin, and turn to trust in Christ as their only Savior and Lord.
DAY 6: Pray for a movement of God in the Metro Detroit area. Pray for God to use our Church Planting team to make His name known to men and women who are seeking truth. Pray for a church to be planted. Pray for the name of Christ to be glorified as He accomplishes these things.
