Pray for the Church
Praise God for the gift of His Word. Pray for us to continue to establish and build upon the strong foundation of Scripture in our lives. Ask Him to help us all hide His Word in our hearts.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for students at Brook Hills and in the Love Oliver Zone who will begin a new school year over the next few weeks. We also want to pray for their parents, teachers, administrators, mentors, and spiritual leaders as they work to equip their students to reach their full potential and enjoy God’s good design for their lives. We’re also praying this week for 16th Street Baptist Church and Pastor Arthur Price.
Day 1: Pray for all of the students in the Love Oliver Zone as they begin school on Monday, August 7th. Pray that peace, patience, and wisdom would flood the halls of their schools and each student’s heart and mind. Pray they will embrace the education needed to enjoy God’s plans for their lives.
Day 2: Pray for the administration at Oliver Elementary School. Pray for wisdom, patience, strength, and guidance for Mrs. Burney (principal) and Mr. Kendrick Graham (assistant principal) as they seek to prayerfully lead their staff and students to be all God created them to be.
Day 3: Pray for the many partners that serve Oliver students and families. Pray for them as they seek to help the students and families understand and respond to the gospel and enjoy God’s good design for their lives, even as they live in a trauma-impacted community.
Day 4: Pray for all ages of students at Brook Hills. Pray for them to grow closer to Jesus this year and be bold in their witness. Pray they would take advantage of opportunities to influence friends, classmates, and school staff to know and grow in Christ.
Day 5: Pray for all of the teachers, home school parents, and administrators to have wisdom, skill, sensitivity, patience, and endurance as they help students learn and grow to fulfill God’s purposes for them in their generation (Acts 13:16).
Day 6: Pray for parents as they guide, encourage, and support their students this year. Pray for them to guide them toward stronger faith in Christ.
Pray for the World
This week, we are praying for a business that Brook Hills partners with that engages North African communities by supplying products that remind them of their homelands. Through this company, nearly 50 sales representatives are engaging North African communities with the gospel. Since the beginning of this year, these representatives have been able to proclaim the gospel 600 times to unreached Muslims.
Day 1: Pray for God to continue to provide for the business–both in product and profit. While they are focused on specific products, they are seeking to branch out to other goods that are staples for North African communities. Pray that God would provide all they need.
Day 2: Pray for endurance for the sales representatives as it has been a hard year. Pray they would be strengthened in the Lord and they would lean hard into His grace and new mercies each day.
Day 3: The owners of this business are transitioning to living overseas this year. Pray that God would sustain the company and all the representatives in this season of transition of leadership.
Day 4: Pray for God to save North African peoples through this ministry. There are nearly 3.5 million unreached Muslims living in 350 different communities throughout the United States. There currently are gospel laborers in 25 of those communities. Mobilization, initial training, and ongoing support are vital to see the spread of the gospel among the unreached in the U.S.
Day 5: Pray for God to establish His church among the North African communities in the United States. Pray for local churches to see the value of investing in these communities and be the feet and hands of Jesus to their North African neighbors.
Day 6: Pray for God to grant credible access to more North African communities in the U.S. Pray for Him to open doors for more stores to sell their products and that would lead to more involvement with these communities.
