Pray for the Church
Pray our love and worship of God will fuel our obedience to the mission of God. Pray we will be known as a people who stand for God’s truth. Ask God to strengthen each of us to boldly proclaim His gospel to all peoples.
Pray for the City
This week, we are praying for Serving You Ministries (SYM), a non-profit organization serving as a ministry arm to area churches like Brook Hills to reach a lost and hurting world through crisis relief and benevolence ministry. They come alongside our faith family to help us care for non-members who are seeking food and utility bills assistance. They also partner with us at Oliver Elementary School to support the staff and families there. We are also praying for Dawson Memorial Baptist and Pastor David Eldridge.
DAY 1: Pray that as SYM staff, volunteers, and board members labor for “the Kingdom to come” in our city, they would “rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and be constant in prayer.”
DAY 2: Pray for the staff and volunteers of SYM to “not grow weary of doing good” on a daily basis.
DAY 3: Pray for the Lord to give SYM leaders wisdom to know how to best serve their clients in a way that is empowering and sustaining.
DAY 4: Pray for the strongholds of depression and drug abuse in Birmingham to be broken by the power of the gospel as clients hear the gospel when they come in for services.
DAY 5: Pray for SYM’s partnerships with other ministries in East Lake to grow stronger so that they can work in unity to provide holistic help to their clients.
DAY 6: Pray for the Father to surround SYM’s clients in crisis with His perfect comfort and peace.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our Short-Term trips in 2018. Each year, the Lord provides opportunities for our faith family to serve partners around the world through Short-Term teams. These Short-Term opportunities are designed to strengthen the Long-Term disciple-making efforts of field partners in both reached and unreached contexts. Our desire is to see the church established in places where it doesn’t exist and strengthened where it does exist. Ultimately, we know it is God who will accomplish His mission of glorifying Himself among all peoples. We also know that He has given us the privilege to participate in this mission for the sake of the gospel going forward. Join us as we pray for God to use our faith family on Short-Term mission in 2018. Visit brookhills.org/shortterm for a complete list of 2018 trips.
DAY 1: There are many field partners who will host Brook Hills Short-Term teams this year. Pray for God to give wisdom to our field partners on how best to utilize Brook Hills to strengthen the work already going on in these strategic areas.
DAY 2: Pray for yourself. Pray for God to show you how He wants to use you, your family, and your Small Group this year on Short-Term mission.
DAY 3: Pray for God to open the hearts of men, women, and children who will hear the gospel for the first time by one of our Short-Term team members.
DAY 4: Pray for our team leaders who will lead each of the trips this year. Pray for God to give them wisdom and discernment as they equip their team and prepare to go.
DAY 5: Pray for the Global Team as they continue to develop partnerships around the world. Pray for God to use Short-Term teams to strengthen these partnerships.
DAY 6: Pray for God to receive great glory from our church on mission this year. Pray for God to call out more people from our faith family to serve Long-Term as a result of their exposure to the world on Short-Term mission.

Glorious Day
Verse 1
I was buried beneath my shame
Who could carry that kind of weight
It was my tomb 'til I met You
Verse 2
I was breathing but not alive
All my failures I tried to hide
It was my tomb 'til I met You
Chorus
('Cause when) You called my name (and)
I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
You called my name (and) I ran out of that grave
Out of the darkness into Your glorious day
Verse 3
Now Your mercy has saved my soul
Now Your freedom is all that I know
The old made new Jesus when I met You
Bridge
I needed rescue my sin was heavy
But chains break at the weight of Your glory
I needed shelter I was an orphan
Now You call me a citizen of Heaven
When I was broken You were my healing
Now Your love is the air that I'm breathing
I have a future my eyes are open
Bless the Lord (Son of Man)
Son of Man, Son of Righteousness
King of the earth for sinners slain
I was lost in darkness bound
You ransomed my heart and I will sing
My strength, My deliverer
The One who rescues me
My hope, My redeemer
Your love has set me free
Bless the Lord, O my soul (4x)
In the splendor of Your majesty
From deep within my spirit sings
Holy, holy
Bless the Lord, O my soul (4x)
Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery
Verse 1
Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
In the dawning of the King
He the theme of heaven's praises
Robed in frail humanity
In our longing in our darkness
Now the light of life has come
Look to Christ who condescended
Took on flesh to ransom us
Verse 2
Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
He the perfect Son of Man
In His living in His suff'ring
Never trace nor stain of sin
See the true and better Adam
Come to save the hell-bound man
Christ the great and sure fulfillment
Of the law in Him we stand
Verse 3
Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
Christ the Lord upon the tree
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory
See the price of our redemption
See the Father's plan unfold
Bringing many sons to glory
Grace unmeasured love untold
Verse 4
Come behold the wondrous myst'ry
Slain by death the God of life
But no grave could e'er restrain Him
Praise the Lord He is alive
What a foretaste of deliv'rance
How unwavering our hope
Christ in power resurrected
As we will be when He comes
Worthy of Your Name
Worthy Of Your Name
Verse 1
Rumors of the Son of Man
Stories of a Savior
Holiness with human hands
Treasure for the traitor
No ear has heard no eye has seen
The image of the Father
Until heaven came to live with me
A rescue like no other
Chorus 1
(Yes) You are worthy
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy yes You are
You are worthy of Your name Jesus
Verse 2
You did not speak You made no sound
You died for Your accusers
And as Your blood fell to the ground
You redefined my future
Yeah on the day that You arose
The darkness ran for cover
For the King of kings has claimed His throne
Now until forever
Bridge
You're my author my maker my ransom my Savior
My refuge my hiding place
You're my helper my healer my blessed Redeemer
My answer my saving grace
You're my hope in the shadows
My strength in the battle
My anchor for all my days
And You stand by my side and You stood in my place
Jesus no other name
Only Jesus no other name
Chorus 2
You are worthy
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy yeah
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy
You are worthy of Your name
You are worthy yes You are
You are worthy of Your name Jesus
By Faith
Verse 1
By faith we see the hand of God
In the light of creation's grand design
In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness
Who walk by faith and not by sight
Verse 2
By faith our fathers roamed the earth
With the pow'r of His promise in their hearts
Of a holy city built by God's own hand
A place where peace and justice reign
Chorus
We will stand as children of the promise
We will fix our eyes on Him our soul's reward
Till the race is finished and the work is done
We'll walk by faith and not by sight
Verse 3
By faith the prophets saw a day
When the longed-for Messiah would appear
With the pow'r to break the chains of sin and death
And rise triumphant from the grave
Verse 4
By faith the church was called to go
In the pow'r of the Spirit to the lost
To deliver captives and to preach good news
In ev'ry corner of the earth
Verse 5
By faith the mountain shall be moved
And the pow'r of the gospel shall prevail
For we know in Christ all things are possible
For all who call upon His name
